Not the wisest move but was feeling good so sent it today on deads for PR double meme deadlifts @ 250kg and PR single with straps 260kg.
Surprisingly the belt worked better than ever before wouldn’t say it’s a massive difference but the new thinner smaller mini belt doesn’t get in the way @MarkKO thanks for inspiring me to get back to the basics and focus on bracing again before reintroducing the belt.
Shout out to @Vincepac1500 for mentioning in passing that hook grip with three fingers is a thing. Was pretty useful today 250kg the most I’ve held with any grip and felt solid.
Aside from going off program and fucking myself for a week of training it was nice lol. Top single was pretty sloppy but not the worst lift I’ve ever done. Confirms me rep capacity is good vs max ability.
This is probably just a case if being out of practice with singles. I find I am able to hit multiple reps well in training but then find it hard to transition this into a single effort.
Road to 270kg still on. See if I can not be a dum dum and stay disciplined and hit it under cheat/meme conditions before lockdown is over. Still a ways off apparently but not far.
In reflection today probably wasn’t super high readiness (maybe like high) so we’ll see what’s there in a month or two.
And yeah new belt too. Staying in the theme of poor impulse control bought a second belt. Did alright though so all well that ends well haha

Yes a peak and also practicing and making each rep the same in training. I haven’t quite worked out the whole switching on and getting set up to do one max effort rep yet. It seems to be a skill that needs practice.

I think it’s like controlled focused hype is good but it’s not like a panic hype where ur unsure you’ll get the weight. I hit the ammonia too for the first time in forever

How so? You execute each rep the same: to your best ability. It doesn’t matter if it’s just the bar or however many plates, you go through the same steps from start to finish.

I do wat I want dis my log. I felt my back start to round out on the 260kg. Not sure if weak back or weak glutes/quads/hip extension being compensated for but ima work on both.
I understand this completely, same set up, same steps for every rep. But when I execute it is just not the same. Squatting for example at 95-100% feels very different from 70-80%. The approach and set up is the same but one I unrack it’s just different. I don’t know how to explain in properly.
