Life Gains Too
Heard it’s gon get worse for a few days. Asthma gains
That looked easy!
On film looked alright. Subjectively wasn’t happy with how I executed.
Damn hamster that was quick and strong.
Good to see you back lifting heavy ass shit again.
The paused squats looks pretty good as well.
Thanks mort. It’s been 8 months in the making to be fair. Not sure I’d get here but whatever the outcome I wanted to give it a go at least looks like its working out. Still need to work on squats: adding back in belt and wraps. Progress has been slower there but it’s creeping along.
Fuck that looks horrible, was Bunnings selling our of P2 masks there as well?

Still a bit beat up from heavy deads on Monday so light squats and bench on the menu for today. Did not help I smashed a pizza going in making me feel sluggish and sleepy.
Tempo squats pretty shitty. Not sure if it’s too helpful for me because I rely on a fair amount of bounce. May have a bit of tempo work in future but not looking too promising.
Looking back through my log trying to see whereabouts my best beltless squats are so I can beat em in the next few weeks. Then maybe see if I can go beyond that maybe beat a few belted Prs without. I see:
130kgx8
140kgx5
Haven’t done much beltless squatting it seems actually
Nostalgic to start at post one and go through it.
Looking back gains over time haven’t been amazing or anything plenty of stall action. I’ve grown more in life socially emotional and so on than growing bigger muscles. Come a long way
Slow progress but Ive learnt much since and feel more prepared than ever to make gains now even if I don’t have the young high test blood flowing through my veins.
One of the first vids posted here (sumo of course):
Sign of a true man is he ability to see the potential for, and edification from, gains in every area of his life.
Life is about gains. All kinds

Not the greatest sesh ever but some solid light work on bench and deadlift.
Thumbs need some toughening up for deadlift it seems. Long pause bench feeling better than ever and accessory work with dumbbells and split squats is solid.

Using belt on squats in the first time in half a year. Feels surprisingly good for having been away from it. Immediate improvement to squatting stability/strength. Heaviest pause squat double I’ve ever hit at 160kg, but sloppy bit starting things off with a lifetime PR is nice. Will continue to do beltless work on light days but things are looking good.

W1D1 Prep I
Back injury rebuild continues as we push into new volume PR territory
Been on Sheiko AI for a month now but gonna start counting weeks arbitrarily to have a better sense of how long I’ve been doing any one particular thing like sticking to a certain movement
Deadlifts and light bench today. Think it’s taken a whole week and a bit to recover from heavy rep deadlifts so won’t be doing one of them again too often.
Ditching the straps more this block. Been heavily reliant on them since my back injury. Make hook grip great again. Thumbs is limiting factor rn can only last half a workout with em. Went a bit overboard and got a blood blister. Bruh
Some triples at 190-200kg for a volume PB. Feeling stronk. After talking a bit with @queen_cobra about using lifting belts I might give learning to use a belt on deadlifts another go. Has never felt natural and my beltless deadlift positioning is better than ever so I don’t know how helpful it will be.
Strong work Hamster Excellent.
When you’ve rebuild that back the sky is the limit, you’ve got such a great technique. Thumbs up.
Thanks mort. Technique has come a long way over the rebuild. I had to learn the hard way not to be dumb with training and prioritising recovery but now that those lessons are somewhat learnt I can get back on track.
Saw that u hit a squat rep PR recently. At least for me I gotta appreciate each little PR hit even obscure ones. Infrequent but That’s enough to keep me going.
It’s great that you noticed me, I didn’t follow your log but I will from now on
Super good technique. If you don’t feel need of belt, just don’t use it- you have strong enough middle section.
How tall are you ?
Ill refrain from commenting. Wouldnt want to bring the bad juju again
I’m a midget/manlet at ~ 172cm / 5’7. I want to get as strong as possible so I’m not one to settle for good enough I won’t know until I try I think
I’ve heard more upright positioning gets less benefit from using a belt. I haven’t really tried it out properly though. This is a Sideview (with straps though so more upright than I’d get with hook grip).
Thanks big fella. U still Hypertrophy focused or cross fitting?
