Pulled up well the day after wisdom teeth removal. Back in the gym 24hrs later as per dentist advice for some pause deads and bench today.
Have been eating soft foods but nutrition hasn’t been half bad. Energy wasn’t particularly high but enough for some pause deadlifts at the knees with 180kg top set. Been a long road recovering from the back injury but things are steadily coming together again.
Squat and bench today. PR double pause squat @ 130kg was nice. Knee still a bit niggly but less so maybe going in the right direction. Note to self don’t do a bunch of quad accessory work before benching… can’t feel my legs.
Spent last few days in Bendigo gardening and watching small bushfires pop up. Blistering heat worthy of an Australian summer. Light days scheduled in the gym so works out.
Slack pulling was the focus yesterdi. Deadlift technique is progressing I think. Soon I’ll be ditching the straps on low rep sets to get good with hook again.
Happy New Year everyone. Hope last year was pretty good and next year is even better for you.
For myself there aren’t any real resolutions. Just gonna keep on keeping on to get bigger and stronger.
Rebuild continues. Will progress as quickly as my body lets me but no rush. In the mean I’m going to keep on doing my best to get the little things right. All those added up will net me some gains.
When I get back to full pig power levels I’ll look again at doing a meet.
New year begins and I’m hungry for gains coming out of a deload in the last week of 2019.
Squats on the menu with triples at ~140kg. Was moving well so hit a top triple of 150kg. Maybe I was too hungry because then went for a YOLO single at 160kg which was meh. But got away with it lol. All rehab PRs.
170ish kg maybe a bit more is my best beltless squat so still a ways to go but progressing. Will try to not go off program too much in future lol. Gonna stick to most less beltless for a bit and see where it takes me and gradually reintroduce belt. I miss my pioneer cut a lot.
Everything moved relatively well. Sheiko Golds recovery management seems to be working for me. Just gotta adhere to prescribed light days better.
Hey Hamster
haven’t been here for a couple of month. So skipped most of the log.
Great to see you’re getting over your back problems.
Did you do something special or has it disappeared by it self?
Great videos as of lately. Looking rocksolid as usual.
I think big thing has been focusing on reducing flare ups and implementing these measures consistently. For me it seems to be mostly warming up better and activating the core and glutes.
Every flare up would put me back days but oppositely every rep, workout and week executed without glaring the back up is building much resilience.
