Nice day to be back at Doherty’s City gym to lift with my buds. Luckily the gym wasn’t flooded (much) by the record rainfalls in the past few days.
Tbh I was kinda disappointed with four days straight drizzle when the Bureau of Meteorology was talking some big shit about the rain and flooding. Hopefully everybody was as disappointed, safe and free of property damage as me.
Deadlift
Sumo Deadlift 180kg x 6,6,6 Rep PRs
Started off with deadlifts again because the platform and Eleiko were there beckoning me.
Form felt a bit awkward today but didn’t look too bad and the plates bounced onto my right foot and toes one set but still got in the work and easy lifetime rep PRs.
Conventional Deadlift 160kg x 5,5,5,5
Not a lifetime PR but if I wanted it, it was definitely there. None of that haven’t worked with this weight before so is technically a Rep PR bullshit this time. All time rep PR weight and reps is 160kg for 7-8 so am looking forward to cracking it soon. Yeah buddy
Bench 95kg x 3,3,3,3,3,3
Bench feeling shit as always but triples moves better than last workout. I’ll just put in the work for now and focus more on bench when I’m done form checking and tweaking squats.
For fuck sake bench why you no grow? Inb4 @everyone catches up or surpasses me.
Pls all stop benching to make me feel better @duketheslaya, @j4gga2 @Kniebuigkoning @Irishman92 etc. Probably @MarkKO too because poverty bench but still moar than me.
Squat
140kg x 4 Rep PR
135kg x 4,3,3,3,3
Switched around Squat and deadlift again so was expecting a poor squat workout but turned out alright.
Getting some top set action in today with 140kg and went in gunning for a PR and hit a sleeveless lifetime rep PR of 4 reps. Am a happy piggy with this one and one step closer to reppin 3 plates for fun. Then after the top set some back offs with 135kg for 3
Still never satisfied tho so form check update anybody?
Finish with a Superset 4 sets pull ups and dips to failure which turned out to be a bad idea because almost vomited up lunch on the way out the gym.
Still was the best training session I’ve had in a long time and after some Hungry Jacks the stomach has calmed down. 10/10 afternoon/evening
Chilling in the city tonight at my friends apartment and off the Bendigo tomorrow for a B-day and hopefully a KFC Giant Feast. Gotta get to SHW Pig before @anon96032531
