Yaaaay!!! Kefka is one badddd muther fucker!! I had such a crush on sabin!
That would be FF6 actually. The actual FF3 just wasnt released in the west until later, so originally in the west, ff6 was ff3.
yea yea everyone knows that. it’s easier to just use the US terminology. Speaking of US versions, I know FF mystic quest was destroyed by critics… but I kinda liked it.

I always named Sabin after myself when I played FF3/6. He was so fucking great.
As far as stories, I tend to prefer FF2 over FF3. Every time I lose Tellah, Yang, and the twins, I get choked up. Edward “The Spoony Bard”… not so much.
No way you cant use the north american titles, they are false dammit!

I honestly thought that FF6 was not nearly as good as it was hyped to be. At the time it came out, i can see the argument that it was the greatest ever RPG (except for maybe Chrono Trigger) but i thought every FF on psx just blew it out of the water in terms of characters, story, development, gameplay, and presentation.
I haven’t played enough of the recent FF games to argue against that, I stopped at 8 I think. 7 and 8 were definitely awesome. I tried to get into a more recent one (11 maybe?) a few years ago, and I just don’t have the time in my life anymore for such an involved video game. The only reason I can still play the old RPG’s is because I can go 2 months in between game-play sessions and remember exactly where I am because I’ve played the games so many times.
Well 7 and 8 are certainly the best, but 9 is fantastic too.

FF Tactics is also incredible.

Well people are listing legit games such as Mass Effect which is in no way shape or form a guilty pleasure, unless you choose to bang the dudes!

God that game was awful.

Although I did play it a lot :(
I’m gonna play it tonight after bringing it up lol, the multiplayer just seems to do it for me.

It is fun being the alien in mp.

Other than Minecraft, I occasionally go back to playing an old PC game called “Legend: Four Crystals of Trazere”. Iso - action - RPG type thing, bad graphics and worse sound but pretty addictive.

I’m for those types of games. Graphics are down the list for me. It is about the plot and the strategic thinking for me. Graphics and sound just add to the game, but if the game sucks they can have the best graphics and it will still suck.

Not a video game but definitely a guilty pleasure for me, dungeons and dragons. I love playing D&D but besides my gaming group only 2 of my friends knows I play.

Oh ya wanna add more

Snes- sim ant LOL. And this game I used to rent umm like tiny toon olympics or something and you had to push buttons really fast to do shit . Good memories with my bro. And one other super baseball 2020

Carry on.

With you on that, my older brother had a Microsoft X computer system for whatever reason and my very early childhood consisted of both Metal Gears. We didn’t even have them in English, I had to trial and error my way through it in Japanese, I never even learnt Japanese.

Yeah, I only got to playing the games in English once they started up the Solid series a while later. Had to actually watch another person play the original all the way through on YouTube just to find out the dialogue for Metal Gear, and I only found Metal Gear 2 in English by accident from buying Subsistence.

Kingdom Hearts…

Most people don’t seem to get “guilty pleasure”. I consider most free to play/pay to win type cell phone//tablet/facebook games a guilty pleasure at best.

My current guilty pleasure game? Candy crush saga. After my girlfriends constant playing it finally got me to try it, and now my goal is to pass her on it.

Don’t worry though, I still play “real” games - I’m currently working through the Prince of Persia HD collection. Definitely not a guilty pleasure set of games.

I’ve got… an atari… and… wait for it… a PANASONIC 3D0.
I hate you. I hate you SOOOOO much. I always wanted a 3D0!!! Dude I remember that was like the first system that blew my mind hearing about it. And I have been looking for an atari 2600 in good repair for like…ever. Fuck I am jealous.

I didn’t have a crush on anyone but I friggin LOVED that game. And Shadow…hell yeah.

PS–audiogarden i know it’s technically 6, I just have always used the other numbering system lol

You might be the only person besides myself that ever played sim ant and liked it! haha. And I loved super baseball 2020 even though it wasn’t that good of a game at all. My little brother was addicted to it too

Lol Vigilante 8, nice one Spidey, I remember that game!

For me:

Sega: Altered Beast, Streets of Rage

PS1: Diablo, I screamed the first time I heard, “Ahh, fresh meat.” Not kidding, but I was younger (like 21… kidding).
Legend of the Dragoon - best RPG ever, turn-based combat with sweet combo-building attacks, imo not well known and I think beats FF, yea I said it.

Twisted Metal series - the old ones, stopping probably at 4, I didn’t care for Black much or and didn’t try the new one.

Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha - my first experience with Japanese anime characters and the extreme, bouncy proportions of women - also first game ever for my PS1 to which I will always remember.

Wii / N64: Mario Party Series - yea I play it. My girlfriend loves the game and I happily go along, the mini-games are hilariously fun, but she is so bad at game. Also Super Smash Bros, but I don’t feel “guilty” for that one.

Penny Racers - what a damned fun game, upgrade your tiny car with weapons and armor and blow stuff up, like a super-cute version of Twisted Metal.

PS2/3: Colonial Marines - I have had it here in Japan as one of the 30+ games I haven’t starting playing much (I bought a ton before coming to Japan for my free time, heh), but what I did play, the AI certainly isn’t as easy as at release from what I read. Those bastards are all over the place. Seriously disappointed with how the game was handled, what a great franchise, I hope the story is good. I will always love - and buy - any Aliens/Predator related game or movie, no matter how terrible - when will Dwayne Johnson start in Predator 3 - serious?

Dead Space Series - this may not be “guilty” but I do feel guilty subjecting my girlfriend to the story, she flipped with the “stick a needle in my eye” part in DS2. This game got me into the “dark horror” genre, nothing has compared yet when I evaluate the game based on realism, controls, and storyline. Currently trying the Fear series and its been disappointing on controls/shooting, feels arcade spammy in playstyle, and the horror is just head-ache inducing/annoying.

PC: World of Warcraft - this game brings a stigma with it to anyone you talk to, gamer or not. Also, it gets flak from other MMO-enthusiasts and as someone whose played almost every MMO release since WoW, I can honestly say its still top dog.

Total War Series - I love this game, enjoy crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me, and hearing the lamentations of their women.

Jurassic Part: Operation Genesis - I played this so much I burned through the disc, not literally but it stopped working do to over-use. I bought a brand new one on Amazon about a year ago and paid double what I did when it first came out. I’m not ashamed at all. Build my own dinosaur park… yes please!

I think there’s more, but thats a good start.

My nephew stayed over for a weekend and brought some of his games with him, I ended up getting the 100% trophies on both of his Bakugan games.

ACTUAL GUILTY PLEASURE, not just some random classic game from childhood.

Also Bejeweled is the shit get at me.
