Haha, thanks! He LOVES Star Wars (IV, V and VI, of course), and I have as much fun adding to his collection as he does getting new toys. Darth Vader and Jabba are his favorite characters, haha.
No Jewbacca?

I hope you consider my 2 games non “guilty pleasures”.

I still play those games. My original Nintendo still works, so I play Final Fantasy I about once or twice a year, and my original Xbox still works. I guess I could play the KOTAR on my Xbox 360, but I dont.

If you think they are “guilty pleasures” then I win.

Trine 2, it’s a side scroller puzzle game.

Jew…err…Chewbacca is his second favorite character overall. You still lose to Darth Vader, though, I’m sorry to admit.

(especially Chrono Trigger)
Recently replayed this on a console port. One of my favorite RPG’s of all time.

Civilization IV - Using the “Rise of ManKind - A New Dawn” mod
Madden 08 - Using the Football Freaks Madden 12 Mod
Sim City IV - Tons and Tons of cheats.

I play games to enjoy myself. I enjoy myself when I win. So I play on easy levels and destroy my computer opponents. I have no shame in this endeavor. I dominate, and dominate always.

Real answer: almost any RPG on the SNES. Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, the FF games… Crystalis on the NES is still playable IMO. These obviously weren’t guilty pleasures when they were introduced, I think they were all well received (especially Chrono Trigger), but the fact that I still re-play these qualifies I think.
Omg super Mario rpg and the legend of the 7 stars?!??!?!??!

That’s what she said…Dominate…

I am the same way but I try to win without cheats first. I keep it on easy though. Once I win then I will do the cheats.

I forgot about SimCity. In Civilization did you ever nuke everyone on the planet?

You mean KOTOR 1 and 2? If so, those games are some of the best western RPG’s ever made and laid the ground work for such incredible series as Mass Effect. No shame in that.

Also, FF1 is so damn underrated. I own the version that came on the FF Origins disc for PSX, and thats the only version ive ever played, but its a ton of fun. You just have to deal with some frustrating moments of trying to figure out where the hell you need to go.

If a game is heavy on story or particularly lengthy RPG adventure, i often choose an easy-medium setting. Games like that are supposed to be about exploration, story and tweaking, not frustratingly trying to defeat the same boss 20 times in a row.

I agree with this as well. Take the GTA games for example, i wont use cheats until ive beaten the game first without them. After that i use the body armor and no wanted level cheats incessantly lol.

Yes, but it isn’t as fun as winning a domination victory before you enter the era of gun powder. I haven’t even gotten to the point of infantry in like 12 games, lol. And the last victory I had I was making my second rifleman when I passed the threshold.

Give me Japan or Vikings (modded version) and a good start… Many will perish.

Nukes come too far into the late game to be fun anymore. If I play unmodded version I have the patience to get to nukes.

Aliens: Colonial Marines :frowning:

lol. I have used Phalanx way into the gunpowder and still able to protect my cities.

Phalanx is too early game for me, lol. I’m still in protect and expand mode unless someone is super close to me. By the time MAcemen and Berserkers come along, I have like 4 or 5 stacks set on my boarders, and will take 1-4 cities in the first turn after DOW.

I am a ruthless tyrant in that game too.

Medieval 2 Total War

Counter-Strike 1.6 (I used to play competitively in HS every once in a while I play with some of my old CS buddies) …wish I would have been lifting instead of playing CS

What Cortes said. Wii bowling is totally a guilty pleasure, also Mario tennis.

This too, although not sure it’s guilty cuz it was the original of the longest lasting rpg series ever? Dunno, but awesome. My personal fav is FF3.

I’ll add DragonQuest on there for the original NES, and Bubble Bobble. Shit I played soooooo many hours of that.

God that game was awful.

Although I did play it a lot :frowning:
