I think the issue is that only “title” fights can be 5 rounds, so they had to whip up an iterim title theme. Basically it’s just a number one contendor fight, but with 2 more rounds than normal. Yes, it is confusing, but if it means these headline fights will all be 5 rounds then go right ahead and make up interim title fights. I just wish GSP-Penn and others would have been that way…

IMO, that is kinda lame, but at the same time they took a real shot to the balls with Serra being injured. Oh well, it’s still a better fight than Hughes/Serra.
