Grow! Bars?

TC and Tim, I have a suggestion to your bar problem. Put up a pre-order button for a couple weeks with the understanding that production will only happen if you reach a certain number of orders, be it your breakeven point, IRR, or whatever amount is acceptable to you.

I don’t know how long it takes from the time production starts until the time you can ship bars out the door, but since you have made the bars before, ideally it wouldn’t take too long.

Have t-nation put their money where their mouth is, see how many orders you get, and if it’s enough, start your engines.

I would buy the bars also. Anything chocolate would work. The 25 per box is also a good idea. It might help your inventory/small run problems.

T-
I would love to see Grow Bars return. The flavors to consider are:

Chocolate
Chocolate Coconut
Chocolate and P’butter
Banana and P’butter
Oatmeal Raisan
Oatmeal and Peanut Butter
Strawberry Banana
Blueberry

I would pay in the range of 2.00 to 2.75 per bar. I have bought LaBrada bars for as much as 2.95 at wholesale stores. They’re ok, but I like Grow bars best.

Happy to hear Methoxy is returning to the line-up

I’m flattered that the Top Dogs would respond to a question that I originally posted.
About the bars, $1.50 a bar would be great.
It would also help with advertising. When people carry shakes around, it is always in a different container. The bars would have that great Biotest packaging that demands attention.

I never had Grow bars before, but I’d definitely try them. The problem I have is that I’ve never had one that I could eat more than once or twice a week w/o being challenged to keep it down. However, I had the same problem w/ protein powders until I tried LC Grow a few months back.

I’d be willing to pay in the two buck range.

Since it’s already established that a market for GROW bars exist and Biotest says that indecision rules about flavor, lets put out a poll to move this along.

You get three, AND ONLY THREE, choices for flavors. Let’s get the ball rolling for a production run of these things and tackle the cost issue then. Does it really matter if they cost $15 each or a penny each if Biotest won’t make them?

Me?

A. Chocolate
B. Peanut Butter
C. Lemon

and to clarify, the only reason i say three flavors is that you can sell a box of 24 bars, consisting of 8 bars of each flavor. and don’t fool yourself, they aren’t going to make a dozen different flavors anyway. selling a combo box would eliminate any concerns about stock turnaround of any 1 flavor. Remember; YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYBODY. MAJORITY RULES.

I routinely pay $3-$4 for bars when I’m at work in Midtown Manhattan. And the stuff I get is crap. I would love to put my money down for quality. Grow bars were the best I’ve ever seen or tasted. No matter what you make, if it’s quality, I will buy it, and I’ll learn to like the flavor.

As far as price, people will always pay up to the perceived value of the product. Show the value in the bars, tell us how much better they are than your competition’s. Show us how important bars are in today’s fast-moving society. Tell us what we can expect by using them as a food supplement.

To me, the old Grow bars were just about the world’s perfect food. If that’s how they are perceived by everybody else, they will certainly sell themselves.

I’ve been successfully selling personal training for months now. Training is exceedingly expensive, a lot more than 95 cents an hour, and this is how I do it everytime. Show the value, and be able to back it up!

I agree with C.T.
Cookies & Cream
Choc. Mint
Choc. & P.B.
I’d pay between $1.50 to $2.00

I would pay $1.50-$2.00 per bar. I dug the lemon and pb flavors, and would like to see:

  • Chocolate or some variation (pb, coconut, or more chocolate)
  • Blueberry
  • Strawberry

I would prefer boxes of 12, but I would buy boxes of 24 or 25 if that was the only option.

$1.50/bar is good…Will go with any flavor just so I can buy a bar I trust…

I would be interested in Grow Bars but only the Low Carb version. $1.50 a bar would be my price point.

Flavors

Chocolate
Peanut Butter

walleye

Grow bars being brought back would be great. $1.50 would be an excellent price I think that I would buy and recommend to people.

As for flavors, I really liked the lemon bars. Maybe a berry(strawberry, blueberry) flavored one? Of course, chocolate is always good too. I’d definately want to see the lemon ones back though.

1.25 - 1.40, no more than that.

If you were to sell them at a profit of $0.45/ bar and sell them in boxes of 25 you’re looking at an $11.25 profit/ box. There are 70 replies to this thread (although there are repeat posters many will buy multiple boxes), and if 70 boxes were sold you’re looking at a $787.50 profit. If an average of 70 orders are placed over 12 months it is a $9,450 dollar profit.

And if they tasted good I’m sure a lot more would order them.

What will be the serving size on the Methoxy-7?

I definitely want some Grow bars. 1.50-2.00/bar is reasonable. Does anyone know any place online that is still selling these? I found some at a yahoo store called “Midwestsports”, but they’re charging $20 and don’t tell you how many you’re getting. I would hate to spend $60+ and realized im only getting 3 bars.

I love the dedication you guys have to your customers.
As far as the bars go
Peanut butter
low carb
$1 or under
and I will buy tons

Now time to order some Alpha Male

DA

Guys, no one is considering that 95 cents is the price to make them. It prob doesn’t count packing, shipping, and then unpacking at the warehouse.

And you think $1.50 is an upper limit price? You won’t pay more than that? Give me a break! You won’t find ANYTHING other than 1 small chix breast or 1 can of tuna w/ some olive oil or mayo that’ll give you the same clean meal w/ a comparable amount of protein. And you have to prepare it and carry it around in an annoying container.

THe cheapest, nastiest POS bars in stores cost MORE than $1.50 each, and that’s buying them in a box which is cheaper than buying them indiv.(THat’s here in NYC, in a Vitamin Shoppe or GNC)

Bars last for months/years, you can put them in a pocket, backpack, purse, you don’t have the inconvenience of a shaker…What is wrong with you people??

If they cost 1.75 you won’t buy them?
Maybe they shouldn’t bring them back…

-Rant over-

Flavors: anything chocolate, 1 fruit flavor, and 1 of the following: PB, mint, cookies and creme, etc

If you were to use rolled oats instead of maltodextrin (similar to what the maker of Trioplex bars does) but actually put good protein in it similar to what was in the original Grow Bars, I would buy a lot of them. I’m sure other people would too. It would be awesome to have complex carbs in the bar, especially from this source. Although maltodextrin is basically a complex carb, it still acts like sugar in the body. In fact, if Trioplex did not contain soy as its main protein source, I would be eating several per day. You simply could not make a better bar than this in my opinion, it would be a great bodybuilding snack. Even with maltodextrin though, I would still buy them because they would be the only bar without a lot of soy, and without high fructose corn syrup and a bunch of sugar. At least consider this. As for flavors, anything like chocolate, caramel, cookies and cream. I didn’t like the old lemon flavor. Go with something more traditional.

Good post. Rolled oats or something similar would be the shit. I would definitely buy them regularly then.

Tim~

Another vote for Grow bars. I would buy them by the case. Price-wise, 1.50 to 2.00 per bar I feel is fair (BTW, you don’t want to know what they charge us here in Hawaii for bars…seeing what other T-maggers pay, we are very much overcharged here in Hawaii).

Flavor ideas:

  1. Oatmeal Raisin Rum Cookie Bars (real oats, real raisins)
  2. Cookies and Malted Milk (real malt inside)
  3. Triple chocolate Brownie- Fudge brownie with white and dark chocolate chips
  4. Coconut Dark Chocolate Cake (real coconut please, the fake stuff in bars tastes horrible)
  5. White Chocolate Cherry (real cherry pieces)

Best of Luck!!

Love and Aloha,
chinadoll:)
