Dodgy research ^^^
The cholesterol part is actually a misconception based on what healthy cholesterol levels would be in the first place. Most studies use cholesterol ranges based on the average population. However it has been shown that self-regulated cholesterol levels in humans without ingestion of dietary cholesterol sink much lower than the currently used and recommended ranges.
There have also been studies that found a nonlinear relationship between dietary cholesterol intake and serum cholesterol, showing that cholesterol stops significantly increasing through dietary intake at pretty much where the current ranges are set at.
The current evidence points towards a wrong baseline level of cholesterol used in most research, usually funded by the meat or egg industry.
I’m short on time so I won’t fetch all the literature but I’m sure you’ll find it based on what I wrote.
So now you’re linking a website trying to sell stuff, using almost 20 year old cherrypicked “research” ? lmao. I won’t waste my time with you discussing.
Showing your ignorance. Food companies promote the fiber nonsense.
Cholesterol scam has been busted. The whole scam was funded by big pharma.
The website isnt selling anything. It highlights how cereal companies are behind the fiber push.
Bowel Cancer
In 2002 the highly respected Cochrane Collaboration reviewed five high quality randomized controlled trials involving 5,000 patients. They concluded that there was no evidence to suggest that increased dietary fibre would reduce Bowel Cancer.
That review was followed up in 2005 by a major evidence review by the Harvard School of Public Health. The paper covered 13 studies which involved 725,628 people. And again fibre drew a blank. The authors concluded that high dietary fibre intake did not reduce the risk of Bowel Cancer.
I genuinely feel that, until we cam decide on if we are talking about red meat causing cancer vs increasing the risk of it, nothing discussed here will be productive. People are having all sorts of different arguments right now.
99% of things are linked to cancer.
That’s why I avoid things.
Especially in California
