You aren’t kidding?!?
Why do they swell up like that?
My ankles only swell when I am stationary for a long time and the blood pools, any time I am active it goes back to normal.

Some fairly incredible progress that you’re making, congrats.
90 minutes on the stepper sounds nothing short of torture to me. I would ask Shelby if it were okay to soak your feet to just above your ankles in tonic water. That stuff is hardcore and I know all about ankle swelling right now.
Good luck with your prep. You’re almost there. Would be nice to see someone from PEI do well.
thanks everyone!!!
great news today! shelby told me to reduce the intensity of my cardio- which is great because my legs were getting a beating from 90 mins of medium (130 bpm) step mill a day. He also told me to swtich to treadmill which is great because i have one in my basement! the less intense treadmill cardio should help adress my swollen ankles/feet (which are already better after doing less intense cardio on treadmill tonight and elevating my feet) also it looks like im going to get my 1st cheat meal this saturday!!! i havent had one during this entire prep!!!
you’ve done a great job so far man I don’t remember the last time I did cardio for more than 30 min and more than once a week lol that’s gonna be the tastiest meal you’ve ever eaten

That must feel great to know you’re on track if Shelby’s making it a little easier for ya (but certainly still not easy). Question about working with Shelby, because if I were to diet for a show he’s definitely a guy I’d consider hiring: Does he lay out whole meal plans for the week for you, or more like “eat these macros this this and this day”?

Definitely the latter, he will most likely give you some food selections, and a macro level to hit. Hes great though, responds within hours and knows what it takes to get in shape. Ill post some comparisons after working with him for 10 weeks when I Have to update him on friday.

Ok great thanks for the response
Only a few more days! Hope all is well ![]()
How are you getting on? Dig in, it’s only a few more days!
hey guys!
well the last few days have been very rough indeed—Shelby decided not to give me the saturday cheat meal and kept my cardio up- tomorrow is my last hr and i CANT wait to have finished it. My lowerbody is retaining a SHITLOAD of water—the sodium and water loading protocol isnt helping that either right now—but tomorrow i start filling up with carbs and using some herbal diuretics- so im hoping once i start that process and take out the cardio—my legs will go back to normal. so yeah not a great time for pic updates as im depleted as hell and holding shit loads of water—just hoping that everything goes well the next few days!!!
Yeah, Shelby doesn’t have mercy. Is the idea of tasty food already sexual for you? ha
Keep it up & kill it.
Damn bro…!! Congrats…!!
Seriously makes me feel like I didnt work hard god im impressed

Im not gonna lie, it was very mentally tough seeing the insane changes you made, while I started to Hold a crapload of water and entire diet consisted of egg whites, chicken, whey, tilapia and green veggies. Now that the cardio is done and we are starting the drying out process Im Hoping things will start Looking better.
Still logged in, bring it home.
ughz, well im still holding a crap load of water and im very far away from making the 180 lb class like intended (not sure how this happened— i mean i weighed 179 at one point!!) i guess the water and sodium loading REALLY made my legs hold water…Shelby says tomorrrow i may not be able to eat or drink anything to make the weigh in!!! gaaaah very stressed right now.
Stressing won’t help (and may actually make you retain more), try to relax and enjoy the ride.
Yours is a unique problem, I’ve literally never seen or heard anyone with that level of retention where you are getting it. I hope you and Shelby are able to make everything come together in the best way possible.
Good luck!!
Following along, keep us in the loop!
(and remember to enjoy yourself, no matter how things turn out. You worked damn hard for this)
S
Crazy couple of days…on thrusday i almost decided to drop out of the show because i have bad edema in my legs, however theyve been getting better. Did two classes this morning…was the only Guy in my provinces open class. Although i intended to make the middle weight cut off at 180 lbs, the water that i ended up holding mid week made it seem impossible, so on thrusday we decided to start filling out. At the weighins i was 185.2 ând when I found out i was the only Guy in my provinces one open class i decided to throw myself into the light heavy class where i got creamed…this isn’t à natural show unfortunately, there arent any of those around this part of canada…anyways still Have the night show to go, but here is the only pic I have which was right before Pre judging
