What have been some of the keys to you quad growth and also their conditioning?[/quote]
well conditioning wise, after i finished the show last year, the seperation just seemed to kind of stick around while adding muscle.

keys to quad growth

i really like CLOSE stance, high bar squats. alll rep ranges, but off season i like to go pretty high reps and just kill myself on them. Gained a lot of quad size from close stance squatting on the big beyond belief program.

i think a lot of people miss out on how hard you have to go on quads too, sounds too simple, but it bears repeating. Im sure itheres more worth mentioning, but right now my pre contest brain isnt terribly sharpe…IF you have any questions ask away.

oh and yes, i think the HIT cardio helped tremendously too…you wont lose any leg size, and might even gain some if you do bike sprints, i feel my quads MAY have grown slightly from using them this year. However, hit is a monster. they are absolutely the toughest workouts i endured during this prep. every time id finish id be ready to pass out. I feel like if theres anything people wouldnt be able to push themselves hard enough to get the full training effect, it would be with hit cardio. Seriously, you have to attack those 15 second sprints like its the apocalypse.

thanks stu, after the show id like to go over some pictures with you and get some suggestions on training and what i need to be doing to keep progressing in this sport. I dream of a WNBF pro card some day.

Good response, thanks Grind.

I may have to find a stationary bike and start implementing this…or just kill my backwards tire drags!

Thanx man, all about consistency and patience. It’s been 10 months since my first show…in 10 more years I will be much more impressive

You aint kidding. The first time I got really lean (not my contest) I used Bike Sprints and they are absolutely brutal. Like dread-going-to-the-gym kind of stuff.

I eventually ended up splitting them up so I was doing half before my workout and half after, it seemed to make it much more tolerable, and if you dont do it on leg day they shouldn’t impact your performance (they may even help “charge” you up)

My legs never got small though. I never even really thought about it like that, but it makes sense. Especially if you load a scoop of MAG-10 or Surge before hand and actually have some amino’s/carbs to shuttle the legs as they are working.

Amen! There are few things as pleasurable as a well thought out cheat meal… My last one was “ice cream birthday cake” ~~~~~ It was actually my birthday too ~ which made it even more fun.

BTW: Has Shelby altered your caloric intake or macros at all, or are you just coasting into the show with the current level of fitness?

Ready for rice cakes and pb…

2 days out…

Bring it!

Looking good! And fyi, for some reason your photos make you look 9’ tall… maybe its the stretching of the image on my screen, but regardless, you should tower over your competition!
