I remember that thread shelby had you suffering before loll. Goes to show how much better it is to remain lean in the offseason.

Gotta keep grinding to get that Tim McBride conditioning!!
GrindOverMatter wrote:
well after 5 tough days I dropped about 4 lbs… feeling a little depleted but nothing like last year.
Can you say what these 5 tough days involved?

Also ~ looking great on the abdominal vascularity…

30 grams less carbs
30 grams less protein
12 grams less fat
3 extra mins of intervals
10 mins extra of med cardio

Just low energy on those days, hungry etc

My quads have NEVER looked like that. I am definitely jelly.

On the recent FDB pic, while I’ve never seen anyone hit it with their legs like that, your quads are so dominant that I can’t even say that it’s a bad idea -lol.

With your arms held so high though, I think you’re stretching yourself out, and not projecting as thick a torso as you could with your arms slightly lower, bent a bit more at the elbow, wrists supinated slightly (to pop your peak), and really trying to push your elbows forward to flare those lats to their best effect.

Thanks stu, ill keep tweaking it…

From posing practice… After eating food and water I look fuller but less dry and ripped…I also never have a pump in any of these pics

What have been some of the keys to you quad growth and also their conditioning?

When I tell people in the bodybuilding community that my quads were biggest (especially quad flare) when I was a competitive cyclist, I get lots of blank stares ~ but GrindOverMatter’s (GOM’s)results speak volumes to the cycling sprinter’s protocol.

I think GOM was on the stationary bike doing sprints for 15 minutes (15 seconds of max effort followed by 45 seconds of rest) twice a week ~~~ so Fifteen 15-second sprints ~ has paid great dividends.

That said, I think the 1x3 work to rest interval contains a significant anerobic/ anerobic threshold quotient. If I were doing it, I’d probably widen the rest interval ~ maybe 15 seconds of max effort and 75 seconds of recovery (which would deliver a 1 - 5 work to rest interval), but the results of the time on the bike are undeniable.

I need to try that out!
