Great guns

I plan on starting the Great Guns in 12 weeks program next week. Those of you who have done it, what were your results? How did you work the other muscle groups? If I want to train three days a wk, that leaves only one day for chest, back, quads, hams, delts, calves,… too many muscle groups to cram into one workout. Should I spit them and train four days/wk? Also what type of diet? Can I use this program with a fat loss diet? How about supps–Tribex, Androsol etc. How much how often? Any input would help–thanks.

OK, I don’t have genetically gifted ANYTHING and my arms blew way the fuck up on great guns, I wasn’t even eating right but I was using creatine (go figure). That was before I discovered nutrition. In regards to your questions, I trained 4 days a week, keeping my other body parts on low volume maintenance levels the whole time. so yes, train 4 days per week cause you won’t really need to do heavy recovering for maintenance muscle groups (everything but arms). Diet? Massive eating + enormous amount of protein, 2 grams per pound of bodyweight and 4000 calories. Definitely don’t do this with a fat loss diet, that is a terrible mistake, the guns workouts are too intense and a fat loss diet will inhibit recovery severely. Supps? Sure, go ahead, its a great idea, tribex - follow label instructions, Androsol - 70 to 100 sprays in the morning only and wash it off by 8 o’clock pm. Do all this and your guns will be freaking HUGE! Glad I can help bro, ~Porch Dawg

My arms gained some good size too, and I ws eating fairly ‘big’ as well. I got about half way through and had to stop though, started getting tendonitis. I think this was because I wasn’t giving my ‘tendons’ time enough to heal… so keep that in mind. I don’t really use any supplements anymore.

Hey Dawg… how’s the parents situation going???

i just started phase III this week, and so far, the program has worked great. i did a four week cutting cycle stacking T2 and MD6, taking in about 1.25 grams of protein per pound per day and still saw gains in my arms while losing a good deal of fat. now i’m on day 6 of a 2-week cycle of Androsol and eating at least 1.5 grams of protein/lb./day. seem to be making gains on everything, but we’ll see at the end of the cycle. as far as the rest of my diet goes, i don’t worry too much about it. i’m not very carb sensitive, and once i get enough protein, everything else tends to just fall into place.

my arm days are monday and thursday. for the maintenance of the other muscle groups, i'm working quad-dominant legs, chest, and calves on tuesday; hipdominant legs, upper back, and shoulders on friday. there's no way i can put it all into one day. chest, back, and shoulders are getting very little work, maybe 4 sets per, just to reduce any extra work on the arms. i'm mostly just experimenting with some new (read old, but not done in a while) exercises and angles. legs might get 5 or 6 sets, with pretty high intensity. since i've been using higher volume on them, the change was a nice shock.

anyway, that’s what’s working for me. might work for you.
