I’m new here, but how about all of us just stop using the “N” word.
and just call each other by our last name or first name.
How about everyone here just tell all their friends, black, white, Hispanic, Asian.
hey let just stop using the word and let it die.
Eventually if everyone stop saying it, it will be extinct. 100 years from now, no one will know what it mean.
Problem solve, let bring back more titties pix
This is something similar in my opinion, but in the Gender area. Would he be getting lambasted if he were a woman?
RAPE is like STD its preventable to a degree.

The sad part is the PC police were actually attempting to suppress common sense advice to help girls not get rapped.
Wow. This debate still goes on? My weigh-in: a) what does it matter? b) if the “unfairness” bothers you, get over it. Life is unfair c) as one guy said initially “use your best judgement” d) So, how many people would I (foolishly) exclude and offend if I called all the white men and women “honkeys” randomly? e) Is your vocabulary THAT limited or is it your intent to offend? f) There will be rascist attitudes and remarks till the end of time. So what? That’s their choice. As long as you don’t TOUCH me or talk shit too long in my face, it’s all good.
I think when it bothers a person who doesn’t (ordinarily) use the term, that others do, especially blacks amongst themselves, it shows a longing of some sort to belong where you can’t. Like a boy joining the Girlscouts. It ain’t gonna happen. (though girls can probably join Boyscouts!)(F**in liberals!) I always listen to the context in which it is said, the inflection, and the surrounding. It all plays a part in whether it was meant to offend or just used as a term of endearment. One more analogy please, how many of you have called your woman “bitch” affectionately? Try that sht when you’re arguing and it takes on a whle new meaning! ![]()

This debate will end if people take my advice and apply it to real world application.
Just tell everyone you know hey just stop using the word period, no matter what the color of your skin is. A racist word is a racist word coming out anyone mouth, it does not matter if it ends in an “A” or “ER”. I don’t buy that bull crap kinship explanation either, its a derogatory word period.

If an insult is deserved (I did something deserving of it), I try to improve myself.
If it isn’t deserved, I laugh at the idiot that spoke it.

You could say that to any unfairness. Slavery suffrage. Fortunately some people change things. People unfairly lose there jobs over racial bias and double standard, just get over it.
Would you get assaulted, ridiculed, loose your job, est for it?
This is a crock of shit. It couldn’t be that it bothers me because it’s unfair and wrong. You admit it’s not fair, then try to claim it bothers people for some other dumb reason.

But why is that one word any different? If I were walking down the street And someone I didn’t know called me whitey, or Bitch-tits, I’d act the same way. I wouldn’t get super duper enraged and beat them up because they refereed to my skin color.
The first link I posted above is a woman whos losing fer radio show because she used the word nigger in context of discussing the words’ social taboos. She never once even hinted at calling a person that name. Sudennly, Media Matters, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, UNITY Journalists of Color, the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Asian American Journalists Association, and the Native American Journalists Association all demand she be fired. SERIOUSLY!
Where the hell were this people when jessy jackson claimed to want to cut obama’s nuts off?
We are talking about people’s reputations and livelihoods, oh, but they should just get over it.
DoubleDuce, don’t get your panties in a wad, dude. I sense some hostility here. Why is that? Did you or someone you know suffer greatly concerning this issue? If so, GET OVER IT. We’ve all been there at some time or another. I’m not trying to trivialize it or anything but as the USUAL recipient of the word, I’ve learned to deal with it in differnt ways. I agree that just saying the word shouldn’t be cause for alarm. That’s stupid. But I can’t fix stupid. America has gotten STUPID over many things that aren’t worth it. And come on, man…the MEDIA!!!
I disagree, it should be fixed, and we shouldn’t just lay around and accept it. And yes, there are a lot of experiences behind my view.

Hey…maybe you and a few thousand friends could MARCH about it in Washington?
That’s cool, bro. We’ve all got 'em. Lastly, I wanna say the scene in the scene in Rush Hour #? where Jackie Chan says “what’s up, my niggas” in the bar has got to be the best of all time. Loved it.

Go ahead trivialize my experience. Trivialize racial prejudice destroying people’s live. I just hope you guys tell black people they need to just get over wrongs done to them too.
Pretty dumb fucking words for a guy that still supports affirmative action because it makes things “more fair”.

I keep thinking of training day where denzel refers to hawk as “my nigga” throughout the movie.

But…we marched for Civil Rights (“We meaning many blacks and whites and jews and no doubt others”) because racism was an institutionalized socially accepted way of life that was holding back the progress of an entire race of people.
If your plight is the same as you keep eluding to, then why not do the same?
Also, when the hell have you seen me say anything about affirmative action other than that there definitely was a need for it and whether there still is needs to be evaluated and considered?
How does that sounds like “still supports affirmative action”? This country was really fucking racist up until the mid 80’s. This is a shock to you?

If the justification of “worse things have happened in the past” were justification for unjust circumstances, you should be happy just not being a slave. Why bother trying to get the right to vote? Then, why bother trying to get equal pay or equal treatment under the law (something not yet achieved).
And Affirmative action is institutionalized racism. What is going on currently in those posts I made is a “socially accepted way of life”.
And I never made the claim that it was the same. What I did claim was that what is going on is wrong. Rather than address the right and wrong of it (the actual issue) you choose to demean and childishly claim, “we had it worse”. How old are you even? Where you actually involved in the LA riots? Did you actually live under the jim crowe laws? Did you march for your rights? If not you need to STFU with all this “we” BS. Black people my age no more lived that than I did.

I remember you supporting AA even today in another thread. If I missremember I’m sorry, I can go look for the thread.
However, The country is still really fucking racist and AA is still wrong. You can’t be both for and against institutionalized racism.
