I suppose when the pendulum swings, it really swings.
They didn’t have to break the dang chain though… ha
We needed a stronger chain.
LOL.
On the other hand, english girls/women on vacation abroad are number 1 as far as sexual availability is concerned.
It must be the British men. Can’t find it at home so go crazy abroad
I think it’s more about how feminism has manifested itself in England and also America. In those countries women don’t want to be equal with men but just like men. In continental europe, women want equality but also want to be women. In the US you’ll see a woman go shopping in slippers and pajamas. Maybe in curlers. You won’t see that in Spain or Italy.
Sorry, forgot the emoji
I’m having flashbacks to my younger days and quite a few bad decisions I’ve made in Mediterranean nightclubs around 3 am, after all the good looking Dutch girls turned me down.
The UK women don’t have discernible waist lines. It’s straight down from their admittedly large breasts to the hips.
Why do American women have those peculiarly fatty upper arms? It always looks from afar like they’re hitting the triceps with some extra sets.
I like going to Coop because depending on the how worn my tracksuit is the locals think I’m either homeless or an US Air Force serviceman from Aviano.
Years of training, and grandma still had bigger pipes than me ![]()
Thing is, when you get to the point that they are the only options left in the club, you’ve had enough beers to make them look Czechoslovakian. Or Dutch.
The point is, good that they were there.
I don’t believe any corporation in the world would go woke if it isn’t for the purpose of profit maximization in the long run. No fucking way. If they’re making the wrong move, I’d pin it on shitty prediction models due to misinterpretation of consumer research or something just based on basic probability.
I’d only buy it if there was any form of government pressure involved, which I don’t think is the case here.
People keep saying Facebook is woke. They let themselves get fucked up the asses and have their moderation dictated by governments in other countries just to maintain their presence there. You really believe they aren’t just out for profit?
Disney films Mulan in Xinjiang for potential CCP backing and receiving a variety of financial rebates. Dumbasses got fucked in the end when the CCP decided not to endorse them despite the obvious(though horribly uninformed and misguided) pandering to the Chinese market in the movie that made it look like it was woke when the movie was released. Woke or just terrible misjudgement on the corporate end?
Don’t get me started on The Rise of Skywalker. That was a true comedy of errors. BUT they still did make lots of money. However, their merchandise line, which I estimate an equal or even higher amount of profit could potentially be generated from, has suffered since The Last Jedi although that movie also went past the billion dollar mark. Combination of woke and bad corporate decisions?
BUT Star Wars is just ONE franchise out of the many others they own. It’s not like the entire corporation has gone woke. They also have existing intellectual properties that they are currently rebooting along with “smaller” movies that they can afford to take risks on. Lion King made over a billion. The fact that these pure corporate products are woke is incidental. If they think the audience wants that shit, they give it to them. It’s all for the profit. They can afford to let some shit fail and it’d just be considered a calculated risk.
Blumhouse releases dirt cheap horror movies and often make at least 5-10x their budgets back. The Purge movies all met these profit margins and more. Other than the first movie, they were all overtly anti-Trump shit, with the last one almost at the point of turning into a propaganda flick. They also produced Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Us. Get Out made back 50x it’s budget. Did they suddenly go woke?
It’s called battered women’s syndrome. I don’t watch any of that Star Wars shit because I’m a man, but I know some people who do and each time they see one they say it sucks but they still go back and watch the next one.
It’s like that Simpsons episode where Lisa dreams she gets booed at her own concert by the entire crowd and wakes up and thinks “why would they pay to come to my concert just to boo me?”
I watched them for the lolz and for the CGI spectacles. Not a Star Wars fan in the least. But I’m a fan of bad movies. The Last Jedi was a riot.
Also, you cannot imagine how hard I laughed when The Emperor did his Force Lightning shit at the end of the last instalment. Totally worth the money I paid.
Disney fucked up ESPN with woke shit also. They pulled it back some, but it’s still way too much there for a sports network.
I went to show my kids Peter Pan and I couldn’t find it on their streaming service. I ended up finding out kids profiles can’t access it, you need an adult profile.
I looked up what was going on and it’s because they consider it racist.
Strangely enough, after they watched it, my kids didn’t want to colonize anywhere, didn’t want entire races wiped away, they didn’t think native Americans were subhuman and they didn’t start playing out stereotypes in our home.
Media types really overestimate the impact they have. All of us use their services when all our real work is done. Younger people have more free time than older so they think it’s more important than it actually is. It’s like a print room kid telling everyone they don’t print at home. Yep, good for you kid. Good for you Disney.
Well, corporations screw people in different ways for profit. It’s capitalism. We have to accept that there’s good shit and bad shit, just that the good outweighs the bad.
Alcohol, tobacco, sugar, Jimmy Fallon… you name it. It spills over to media as well. Clickbait, real fake news, faux outrage, 4 fucking tedious years of “Orange Man Bad”, capitalizing on whatever ideology will drive audiences to them etc. While I think the press needs and has the duty to question any acts of government, the fuckers really took it too far.
Still remember The Marlboro Man? Yup, even we had large billboards of Tom Selleck in some of the shittiest parts of Asia long ago.
John Wayne movies during the Red Scare. Remember them? Blacklisting of suspected commies including fucking Orson Welles and Charlie Chaplin? THE motherfucking one and only Orson Welles. The man who gave us Citizen Kane AND did the voice for Unicron in the movie version of the Transformers cartoon.
Well done.

Is the concept of “cancel culture” really new?
Has anyone seen the Disney WW2 propaganda cartoons? Go check them out if you haven’t. This was probably a case of government influence, though.
It’s just that the political spectrum has shifted considerably and some of it has become a little extreme. However, it’s not the corporations’ fault in most cases. It’s the consumer’s. Corporations are just giving us what we want, or in the case of failed products, what they erroneously thought we really wanted.
You can make a valid argument against this with tobacco for obvious reasons, but you can’t make the same argument when it comes to why a dipshit like Trevor Noah has a career.
As for the overreliance on tech and IOT, it’s a complicated issue but my very simplified opinion at the moment is that we made our beds. Now we sleep in them. No one forced me to get all my shit and link them to a common platform like my smart TV, sound system, mobile phone, computer, lights, front gates, robot vacuum etc. All we can do is have back up plans and clean the dirt up when shit like abuse of personal information happens or social media corporations decide to constantly fuck around with the rules that affect certain people’s profit margins without any valid rationales.
FWIW I hate the woke shit in movies. But this is from an “artistic” POV, not really an ideological one though there are lots of inevitable overlaps when I start ranting about them.
Hollywood wokeness in a nutshell:
An 80 year old man who made a little indie film called Mad Max, entered the film industry despite having a fucking medical degree and made some hits along with multiple ambitious failures, had to show them how to do it RIGHT with Fury Road. No one took any notes.
Just want to chime in on this great thread and make the important contribution that Jungfleisch is German and literally means young meat.
