Good Program for My Girlfriend?

Ok, so I’ve been lifting for several years and try to constantly research and learn new things, but when it comes to training a girl, I really am not so sure where to start.

I do believe it is good for girls to really LIFT and not listen to all the BS of mainstream muscle mags that think girls should train 100% different than men, but I know I may need to approach training differently when working with a girl.

Anyway, my girlfriend is already in great shape, used to be a gymnast when she was young, then did dance and cheer all through high school.

Now she’s always running and doing intramurals at school. She’s already pretty lean… leaner than most girls I know, but now she is interested in actually lifting some weight, which I think is great.

What kind of routine should I be suggesting to her to emphasize female aesthetics? I know there are some muscles that add to a more feminine look and better shoulder-waist-hip ratios, etc, and then some that just don’t. The LAST thing she wants is to look like a competitor of any sort. Basically, if you were to suggest a program to a swimsuit model, what would it be?

Lol, sorry if this is an excessively long post, but thanks for the help!

IMO, girls should keep abb training to a minimum, it can lead to a blocky look if the abbs become to developed.

I have a great program called the “BendOver Program”.

Step 1: Tell her to bend over
Step 2: Tell her to pick up the barbell thats on the ground
Step 3: Lower weight and repeat with other movements.
Step 4: Get your mind out of the gutter.

But in reality the best thing i could suggest was said by the post above me.

Just work the parts you want to see an improvement in.

I usually work the legs, butt, shoulders and arms.

I don’t do deadlifts with girls who are only going for physique improvement as I want to increase the hourglass shape in most cases, not ‘blocky them up’. Squats I use but sparingly, again for their ability to hypertrophy the lower back.

I agree 100% with most of the above she should use what ever program works for you same thing what makes you BIG makes her HOT!!! Lifting real weights.

Here is a great little arrticle on this topic this week on elitefts

i was just talking to a girl about this the other day, kind of…

the girls that are stick thin, but somehow have huge boobs have it made…they start doing a routine with squats, deads, etc…4-6 months later they are lean, still have their big boobs, and they also now have the legs/ass to go with it…

if thats the situation you are in, man i envy you!
