Good BB Genetics, How Do I Know?

Yes, he admitted so himself as far as I know… And he’s not the only case of such things happening… Though to be honest, it may just as well have been a problem with diuretics-mis/abuse… That actually sounds more likely to me, but what do I know.

Thing is, and many who know more about this subject than I do and possibly even know flex personally can tell you that: Flex is no Ronnie in the gym and always liked to use more than others to try to make up for that… He is/was not the only one like that either…

As for whether he’s off gear completely now or not… I dunno… I’d expect him to be on HRT at least (that’s what I’d do, but then again, no idea about his current state of health etc)? That being said, I do know of plenty of cases of guys who went off-gear (often due to health reasons … Guys who’d, by their own admission, gone about gear use the wrong way) and managed to get into great shape again (not into the same shape they were before, obviously)…

I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt…

Hey, if he truly is off-gear now… Guess what, no one will believe it, no matter how many tests of whatever kind he passes etc. People also never believe that any of the natural champions are natural. Or that anyone bigger than 180 in contest shape could be natural. Whatever.

He’s gotta keep in the center of attention though if he wants supp deals or anything like that… So I guess that’s why he went and shouted “I’M ALL NATURAL NOW” at the rest of the world.

Haven’t seen anything other than his arm-training vid to judge his current physique… Anyone got a few pics handy?

“Wheeler training intensity” Wow, I never pictured Wheeler being a heavier lover of the stuff. I guess you have to stay relevant in the sport. Hell yeah (insert random useless supplement name) put 40lbs on my frame, now give me my check! Yeah I haven’t seen anything on Wheeler either. On all the interviews for MD that he does he’s always wearing those XXS UnderArmor shirts that look like they are cutting circulation off to his arms and head. He’s still got the guns! Fuck wearing tiny shirts man, I used to wear them when I was 200lbs dont get me wrong but after you reach a certain level their is a certain comfort in a XL that cant be described.

I was told this by my clinical sciences lecturer, which doesn’t necessarily make it so.

It sure doesn’t. Flex was a skinny teenager before he started lifting. That does not indicate “myostatin gene deficiency”. It indicates that he ate and lifted until he got huge.

The problem is people only see others as they are right now. That is why most people think I was always big. They don’t understand that many of these guys didn’t start out huge but had to work for it.
I think a good amount of the people who get really big turn out to have been small or normal earlier on in life. It would seem that perhaps those with the best “genetics” maybe don’t have the drive? Kinda like you want what you don’t have?

I don’t buy that Ronnie beat himself, Jay nailed his conditioning and was able to bring a better package. Jay looked pretty soft the following year though.

I like how Jay Cutler didn’t give up and kept competing until he finally beat ronnie…Unlike Shawn and Kevin and Flex.

Jay annoys me now with his Fred Flintstone Grin, but that was a great achievement:)

I think you got that all mixed/wrong Jimmy. Jay didn’t beat Ron Coleman. Time and injuries caught up with Coleman. If he would have stayed tight I could see him keeping it in 06 and maybe 07. I like Jay. As much as a Weider pet that he is, I like him for how he has monetized his presence in the sport. He has all his goodies (car, house, can afford to bodybuild unlike others) but he also has several business ventures pumping out money. I hope he cashed out before the nuke hit us in the housing sector. Specially Vegas, our Nevada chapter built so much shit over there its not even funny.
It’s interesting that you say this. I’ve believed for a long time that most guys underestimate their potential. I really do think that explains many of the “I don’t wanna get too big” cases.

I do not have bodybuilding genetics as far as structure is concerned. My hips are too wide, my shoulders are too narrow, I’m naturally tall thin and kinda blocky. As of this morning however I weigh 84 pounds more than the first time I stepped into a gym at 27 years old and am carrying not much more fat now than I was then. The point is I could never compete, but that hasn’t stopped me from making myself unrecognizable from the neck down.

Like somebody else said too. There is no way to know what you can accomplish until you actually put some serious time in. Serious in duration and effort.

That’s fine that’s your opinion, but you can’t say that the Ronnie Coleman we saw at the 06 Mr Olympia was the same one we saw in 03. It wasn’t only due to his conditioning being off but that he had sustained some sort of injury that destroyed his shape and symmetry (right from left boys). As for Jay bringing a better package, you have to remember that this was the Mass Monster era and no one, I mean no one could have outmuscled the Big Nasty when he was on. The bullshit BSN (can I say that or will this post be deleted?) ads don’t call him King Coleman just for shits & grins and added effect. The man dominated the stage during his era and will go down in history as the man that pushed the sport to its limits and beyond. He is in my book the greatest bodybuilder to ever step on stage (until he runs for governor, turns his back on the sport, denouncing certain necessary evils, and starts throwing racist remarks against Mexicans). He is in my book, King Coleman. I’m not the kinda guy that likes to get into: “oh yeah well this and that” and then you say “no this is right and you’re wrongs” You know? This is merely my opinion, be it right or wrong. Cheers
