How do you think I answered the other questions? I don’t have time to run out and rent, then watch, all 28 movies. (That’d be fun, though).

Do I have to give back my gold star and my radioactive breath faceblast?

There are a few .wav files at the bottom of this page: http://www.godzilla.stopklatka.pl/godzilme.htm

Re: the “Gojira” name.

a fat Toho press agent

or

a tough-looking guy working on the Toho lot

Survey says: it’s the same dude.

Could be. I had never heard the press agent story. All the stories I had read referred to what sounded like a laborer-type that worked on the lot.

There is a great CNN Interview that they did with the original Godzilla actor. He talked about how the suit weighed something like 200 pounds and he had to carry a car battery between his legs. He was burned and injured multiple times while making the movies.

You can download it here, along with a bunch of trailers from Final Wars:

It is one of the two CNN news stories near the bottom of the page.

Good stuff. Thanks for the link.

Given where Nakajima (the original actor) had to carry that car battery, those must have been some horrific burns he suffered. Ouch!

Leading to the suspicion that perhaps not all those funky-sounding Godzilla roars were produced by the FX people.

Yeah, you may be right. He talks about what pussies the new actors are and how easy they’ve got it.
To play a tough monster, you had to be a tough actor back in those days.
