I keep killin’ that guy and he just keeps comin’ back.

Here’s a trivia question:
Name the movie that still is from. Here’s a hint; look at my eyes.

And there are two other monsters in the scene, who are they?

Stab in the dark here – been years since I’ve watched any Godzilla flicks.

Godzilla, King of Monsters (Am I remembering a real movie title?)

Mothra’s one of the beasties in the background. I can’t remember the other two. I do vaguely remember a battle royale with ol’ scaley kicking some tail, though.

Nice try. but BZZZZZZZZZT. Wrong.
Godzilla King of Monsters was made in 1956 and was the Americanized version if the original Japanese 1954 movie (the Americanization of this movie is a very interesting story). Most of you have only seen the 1956 version and never seen the original 1954 version. However, it was finally released on DVD a couple of years ago. The 1954 original does NOT have Raymond Burr in it.

This movie is much, much more recent.

You got one of the monsters right, though.

Gojira,

Slightly off-topic here, but what made you become such a fan of Godzilla? Just curious…

Awesome avatar pic too. When will we see a rematch with King Kong? Judging by his last film, he’s had some “enhancement”.

Damn Hollywood. All their monsters are “enhanced” with CGI.

She doesn’t want any part of this action, brother!

Oh puh-leeze. I remember when you were natural before you were…um…enhanced. Watch it, or you’ll get another taste of my tail supported flying drop kick. [/quote]

That was my much smaller brother “Larry” you’re talking about! You’re just mad becasue my movie was a box office smash and yours was a box office crash! And, at least all the people I smash in my movie are in sinc with their dialogue!
KONG HAS SPOKEN-

I’ll take a stab at it:

Godzilla 2000?

The other two monsters are:

the monster with the really long fingers and the octopus monster with the big head.

May I ask why you’re not, LOL.
Don’t know why. I can burn all day sitting and watching that stuff.

The whole Godzilla story, where it came from, how it has changed, the cultural overtones, etc. is pretty interesting.

I think part of it is the length of detail the model builders go into. And the fact that they’ve got this guy in a suit wading through these models I just think is so cool.

And I love the monster. The strength, the sheer unstoppable nature, and the radioactive breath is pretty cool too.

The short answer is I’m not sure why. I just am.

Why do you insist on bringing a knife to a gunfight?

As I recall you met your demise by being shot by an airplane, BY AN AIRPLANE! Do you know how many times I have been shot by jets, surface to air missles, attacked by aliens and other monsters, and blasted by Maser Canons? I eat airplanes for breakfast. What a pussy - shot by airplane. Gimme a break!

And regarding the movie thing. Uh let’s see. There is one movie about you that they have made three times. Two of them got panned. I, on the other hand have made 28, that’s right 28 movies. And I have a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. You got one of those? I don’t think so.

And my movies ARE in sync with the dialog. It just happens to be japanese dialog. When they dub it in the MULTITUDE OF OTHER LANGUAGES FOR THE MASSES, then it my be out of sync. But I have no control over that.

Now, why don’t you go pick some fleas of Larry, ape-boy.

Nope, good guess though.

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (or GMK for short).

Mothra and King Ghidorah…?

Oh, very good. You get a gold star.
Not one of my favorites. Interesting theme to the movie though. I didn’t care for the blank Godzilla eyes.

Have you seen Final Wars?

Ok, more trivia questions:

*What is King Ghidorah’s name in some of the English dubbed movies?

*What is Godzilla’s son’s name? (No, it’s not “Pudge” or “ET.”)

*Where did the name Gojira come from?

But be fair to Kong: “Twas beauty that killed the beast.”

The Three Headed Monster

Minya

There’s another name that was used. Some of the English movie titles used “Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster” but that’s not the name I’m thinking of.

Good. That’s the name used in the English dub. Do you know the name used in the Japanese versions? (i.e. analogous to ‘Godzilla’ vs. ‘Gojira’.)

Good job! According to rumor, the name is an amalgam of gorira (gorilla) and kujira (whale).

Actually, I haven’t seen any of them, except for the crap 1998 remake with Matthew Broderick.

I have read a few of Marvel’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” comics though. A looong time ago.
