Ahhh knew I would get some grief. Thing I don’t understand is I feel even more beat up physically then if I had had a good workout. Fortunately caught an hour and a half nap while the kid watched Toy Story for the 5 millionth time. Actually he only made it halfway through, fell asleep on me. good times.
^^nice

Man, I hate to break it to you, but all y’all should know. All the Pixar stuff as been proven to increase cortisol. The only known antidote is watching Clint Eastwood flicks from 1975 to the present, except for movies co-starring orangutans.
You might have a point OP.
Today did 30 minutes elliptical, NBC news blah blah blah.
foam rolled back, hips, hammies, stretched hammies, abductors, iced shoulders, elbows, forearms. suddenly sitting down in my chair my body was seized with pain, that was the motivator.
90 minute drive in snow and traffic to train tonight. Here is what I got done.
Hip and hamstring flexibility was even more destroyed by sitting in truck.
Squats 145 x 10, 235 x 5, 325 x 3, 415 x 3, 515 x 3
At 515 I was at depth at best. 145 was high as a kite, lol.
Defecit DLs. Gassed by the time these came around. 225 x 5, 315 x 5, 405 x 3, 495 x 3, 545 x 3, x 3, x 3
Reverse hypers 3 x 20
Have to do some ab work at home tomorrow. Going to keep ME work submaximal, I am too injury prone right now, up until meet, and focus on recovery and maintaining strength. Assessory work will still maintain some PRs, hopefully. I have a huge history of burning out/injury the last couple weeks before a meet. Going to try and avoid that this time:)
40 minutes elliptical

I need at least 315 to get anywhere close to depth I’m so tight. 135 and 225 aren’t enough to push my fat ass down.
Nice work… If I do a day on a ladder I am beat but can squat, pull etc.
If I do two or three of those, Im beat up.
If I do one day in a vehicle - all day or sit all day I am finished.
sitting sucks the life out of you.
I am ccnvinced I have a seasonal stiffness issue. Last year same time per my log books squats sucked. They rocked most of the spring/summer/fall, now they suck again. Also alot to do with being stuck sitting.
Just spent an hour and a half stalking contacts on LinkeIn. Fucking hate it, but realize that is the game I need to play.

Dunno if you supplement with Vitamin D. I feel immediately better the day after I remember to take it, particularly during the winter months. I’m sure the coldy cold coldness where you are is the major factor though.

Tony is onto something with the vitamen D…
I agree on the stiffness- over the winter.
February is the hardest month to train- the body wants to sleep and not burn fat.
sounds silly but its the month that all HS and college wrestlers get an extra pound allowance-
somehow most people are more sluggish in Feb.
as for linked in and all that crap, I really do face book to keep up with my work peeps
who is in town, who is busy, booked etc.
linked in, Yahoo tv, social networking is part of work it sucks.
The first few squats always suck. Takes me about three sets just to get anywhere near depth. Reading your’s and others trials and tribulations on the job market makes me think walking a mail route everyday ain’t so bad. Hope you get something soon.
Gonna have to look into the vitaman D supplementation.
Networking sucks, but gotta be done I guess. Wish it was simple, like just applying for a job via the newspaper.
Did 25 minutes elliptical. Kid is consistently sleeping until after 8 lately, so I am too. Which means we get a late start. Gotta start setting my alarm again. Only day last two weeks I have used the alarm was on Saturdays to go bench…
Upper work:
Floor press 135 x 10, 185 x 10, 225 x 10, 275 x 6, 315 x 6, 335 x 6, 335 x 8
close grip inclines 4 sets worked up to 275 x 5
supersetted with
reverse grip pulldown 4 sets up to 280 x 12
dbell bench 110s x 15, 120s x 15, 125s x 12, x 12
supersetted w/
wide pulldowns worked up to 300 x 8
rolling tris w/mini 95s x 12, 125s x 9, failed at 10
hammer curls 60s x 10, drop set of 100s x 5, 80s x 5, 55s x 8
rope down/extesnion/cable curls 3 x 12-20 each, last set of curls drop set
laterals 30s x 15, 40s x 15, 50s x 15, 55s x 12
face pull 4 x 12
cable abs 4 x 12
felt good once I got going, full upper body pump fer sure dude
My son can now fart at will, especially in my face.
Talents like that usually run in the family. ![]()
Funny, the last year or so I am the least prone to farts I have ever been. My body has finally acclimated after all these years to all the whey, steak, chicken, oats, rice, etc I normally feed it. Now, give me a good bender of beer and bourbon with tons of junk eating, and yeah, I can rip the house in two…
My eight year old is a flatus master. He can just rip them any time. It seem to be the funniest when I’m lying on the couch not paying attention and he farts in my face. But in his defense I give it back when I can.
