I don’t like to hear about unexpected medical problems. My COBRA runs out this month on my last crappy plan and I am looking into individual plans, Jesus H. Christ it is un-f-ing-beleivable how much a basic plan costs when you are on your own.

What are rolling tris?

How does it feel using a mouth guard? I see a lot of people wearing them and wonder if they help. All I know is I’d pretty much freak over a cracked tooth.

Where’s the meet? Is it local?

rolling tris, basically, are like doing a sloppy dumbbell tricep extension and a neutral grip db bench at the same time. I love them with a mini band around my shoulders for extra tension at lock out. This has been my ‘improve lockout ASAP’ exercise.

Mouthguard will take some getting used to. Will try in the a.m. with benching. I did freak out over the tooth thing. I am not pretty now by any means, but goddamn missing a half tooth even would put me over the edge from ugliness to just plain hill folk.

Meet 10/23, APF Minnesota thing, on the WPC website. Depending on my stress level over the next couple of months I will be either full power or just push/pull.

hey man, when was the last time you did a meet sans gear? isnt it traditional to do at least one raw meat first? just curious.

there are some great videos on elitefts and westside for the rolling tris. i did them when i first started, but I couldn’t get the feel for the movement. i honestly think my tris are too weak to do them.

I just googled “rolling tris” and your log, page 34, was the second entry. That freaking search engine is crazy.

last meet raw was my first meet back into powerlifting 2 years ago. Got up that morning and my 140lb American Bulldog had shit all over the basement and had a deadlift sock hanging out of his ass. I puked all over myself, cleaned it up, and decided take all the legal stimulants I could find and go ahead with the meet. I was way under weight. Missed my opener squat of 551 3 times. First apparently I hit depth but missed all the commands. 2nd was for depth. 3rd I tried to go Oly style and got buried. Hit a 370 bench with bum shoulder (had injured it really bad six months before) missed 402 or whatever twice because shoulder buckled at the bottom. Hit 617 opener on dl, can’t remember 2nd and third attempt weight (640ish) but got called on it once for ramping, second attempt went to grab bar and someone realized there was blood on it. When they called me back up I just shook my head and laughed, I was done.

So far I have determined I am pretty good at getting myself stronger, pretty good at helping others get stronger, but fucking suck at meet day performance. Gonna try and turn that around some.

Sorry for your pain but it made me laugh my ass off. You know the meet isn’t going to go well when your deadlift sock is hanging out the dogs arse.

great story. that would have turned me off raw competing too. too many foul associations there.

Not turned off by raw by any means, gear just interests me right now. It’s a complete pain in the ass but that makes it more of a challenge.

I know lots and lots of people who have competed only geared. Up until a few years ago there weren’t any raw competitions.

skwattt night, with a sinus infection. Bad enough finally went and got some antibiotics today.

Was supposed to go with a heavy triple tonight, but decided to change plans and work up to a decent single.

Raw warm ups to box 145 x 5, 235 x 5, 325 x 3.

briefs, belt, wraps 415 x 2, 505 x 2, 595 x 1, 645 x 1. long time since I have had that on my back. Felt great, looking forward to more when I feel like I can breath.

ghr, dumb bell shrugs, hanging abs 3 x 15 each

reverse hyper, cable ab thingy 3 x 15 each

prowler is in need of repair, I am having new skis fashioned, but in the meantime training partner and I ran hills>

Hill run: 7 trips. I will just label this ‘near bb club hill’. It was like 90+ degrees and high humidity. The prowler definitely had me in shape to do this, I cut it short because I was needed at home. Will hit ten trips next time.

Great lifting. You seem to get sinus infections alot. Have you tried the old wash out the nostrils with saline water thingy? Hear it helps alot.

I think the nasal thing is call the ‘neti pot’. Some people swear by it.

Fischer, I have done the saline, my problem is I have a smashed septum, I need to get surgery at some point.

Eco, I am doing ok on the sleep front, the baby eats and sleeps soundly for hours at a time. And I don’t make milk.
