I hate to guess the number you’ve lost over the years. A quote for ya:
What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
Albert Pike
I’m sure as I write this he was honored to call you a friend. Have a short one, bless ya.
Sorry for your loss, Hel. Your pal was lucky to have you for a friend. I’m having two beers tonight, one for you, and one for him.
Sorry for your loss, elder cousin. I just reconnected with a similar friend of mine from college, who is now a Colonel in the Marines. We have a similar pact. Remember the good times, and dance like you mean it.
Having just read all your comments I can only say thank you to all of you which in no way adequately expresses my feelings.
So, I didn’t go to jail thanks to family connections and 2 older brothers who came and collect me around 0200. I did my best to make it a good send off. Think he enjoyed it.
Survived my colonoscopy. Per Dr Mohandas Gandhi (not his real name) I’m clean as a whistle. Not a polyp or problem in sight. He was real proud of his photography and presented me with a several color copies of my inerds. I assured him I’d have them framed and put over the mantle. Ate real light yesterday and today but every thing seems to back to normal. Plan on hittng the gym again starting tomorrow right after work. Been away 4 days so I guess I did a deload. Literally.
Glad your back.

I am late with the condolences, but here they are. Losing a good friend sucks, but it sounds like you sent him out in style.
Lead, follow you know the rest. Train hard and go heavy.
Maybe you could scan your new photos and use one as your avatar.
Glad to hear about the clean bill of health hel.
Sorry to hear about your friend though. I’ve been there and it just plain sucks, condolences.

I think I finally understand what a proper deload is. Doc
so how do you keep the mail dry when you walk the route in that kind of rain?

Good training… I know, you have webbed feet too…
MJ, we’ve got our shoulder bag, waterproof, but the post office’s position is you want your mail on the porch it’s gonna get wet.
You should hear me quack, JW.
Rain let up early and it wasn’t as bad as forecast predicted.

Wife and I hit the gym together tonight. Looked over and she was doing single arm db rows. Asked her when she learned those. Said one of the staff, a bodybuilder, told her to do them. I told her she should do lat pulldowns first before she start using DBs. Her answer, “his lats are bigger than yours” and she kept doing the dbs. Damn, too late to deport her.
She’s cooking up a couple of big steaks, asparagus, mushrooms right now. Couple of good ole cheap scary movies on the TV. Good night in.
