I always pin my glutes in the reccomended areas and I have had issues with occasionally hitting veins. I use 23ga 1.5in pins.
This morning I hit a vein in my left glute. So I dumped the pin and started over in my right. I am always worried about accidentally injecting into a vein. I only inject myself to make sure its done correctly.
I have had to waste quite a few shots over the years. And there have been times where even though I aspirated before injecting, Ive had a mild post injection reaction (strange feeling in lower lung area mainly) which I always assumed was from some of the gear ending up in the bloodstream.
Has anyone else experienced this?
When you say “dumped the pun” you mean threw it out and started over? Why would you do that?
This is typically from injecting too quickly and from getting too much in the bloodstream. This happens more with tren in the bloodstream hence the tren cough.
How much are you injecting and how fast?
Unless you’re a stick, the pin size should be fine. You should be more concerned staying away from the sciatic nerve than any veins. You won’t be injecting in a vein, almost guaranteed. You can certainly pierce capillaries that can cause some decent bleeding.
Make the switch to Slin Pins — you won’t regret it.
I used Luer lock syringes for a while but got tired of losing even that small amount in the dead space.
I used 25ga before. But they take so long to inject with that It is more uncomfortable for me.
I dumped the pin because it had a good amount of blood in it. Its what I was always told to do. Test is cheap and I have plenty so I play it safe. Ive tried to push the blood out but I’ve never been able to get the blood out once it gets in the syringe.
Capillaries could be the culprit? I never knew that. I know a lot of guys never even check and just inject. I just am extra careful and I have no idea if 1cc of sust IV is dangerous.
Just this morning I went to use my left glute again and it felt like I was near a nerve. And it felt like it did when I got blood on Monday.
Rather than do the shot I took it out and did my right glute. No blood when I pulled back on the plunger but when I took out the needle I bled a bit.
I am considering switching to my quads. I hit a nerve once in my quad and never went back to them. But my glutes have been difficult lately.
If I were to guess, I would say that I have injected some AAS into a vein about 10 times. When injecting intramuscular, I always draw back to see if I was in a vein.
I have drawn back blood that indicated that I was in a vein. I would never throw it away. I just re-injected in another location, pulling back on the plunger to look for a vacuum in the syringe and inject into the muscle.
I sure knew when I injected some in a vein, as a coughing spree would follow for a few minutes.
Tren does no have a corner on that market, as none of my experiences were from Tren.
If you ever have occasion to inject less than a milliliter of AAS, you might consider subcutaneously.
I prefer using the delts for either IM or shallow IM injections. Quads are always a bit tricky for me.
