Glucosamine/Chondroitin & Spinal Health

I noticed in the Think Tank Dialogs thread “Your OTHER Supps”, Dr. Lonnie Lowery wrote:

Now, I have a lumbar disc that is not 100% cooperating in that it is not cushioning quite as much as the ol’ boy should. It’s not herniated or bulging (thank God), it’s just that you can see on an x-ray that the space that disc cushsions is narrower than it should be.
I was curious as to any studies or information anyone might have about the impact of glucosamine for helping out my kind of issue. I’ve seen quite a bit about glucosamine helping out your joints and your spine is basically one big connected set of joints, but I really do not have the background to say whether a disc would benefit potentially benefit at all from glucosamine supplementation.
