Glasses-Wearing Lifters

This is one of the few areas where yoga DOES produce good and real results imo. Not miraculous or anything but noticeable results for many within a few months.

I’ve known many people who actually did get rid of their bifocals but obviously that depends on how bad your eyesight is in the first place (optical power) Google this.

Contact lenses are so cheap now, and they are very much worth it.

I wear both glasses and contacts, but never ever wear glasses while doing anything that would cause me to sweat. Between sweating on the lenses or the frames just slipping down my nose, wearing glasses is simply unacceptable.

is that what you’re asking?

Carrots are not going to make you’re eyesight noticeably better any time soon, I’ll promise you that. There wouldn’t be millionaire lasik doctors.

And unless something has changed recently, if you get those surgeries for your eyes, you can either get perfect short or perfect long vision, but not both. Both my parents got it and it’s bittersweet… reading glasses are now a must for anything within a yard of their face. I’ll take my contacts thank ya.

Yep. I have shitty shitty eyes with astigmatism and 6 pairs of toric contacts, which would last me about 6 months, costs $60 out the door at walmart. The real bitch is getting the prescription every year with no vision insurance.

I think it’s about $140 for glasses/contacts prescription. And I really do have to do it every year, it’s not just them trying to make money. My vision has changed every year since I was in the 5th grade, and I’m 23 now so however many years that is…

Go to zennioptical.com for glasses. You won’t believe their prices. Read the directions though.

I wear contacts all the time. I can’t feel them on and its like I have perfect vision (except when waking up and going to sleep, but thats only for like 5 seconds so it doesn’t matter).
Some people say they irritate them, but I think you should always try them because i’m pretty sure on 90 percent of people you can’t even tell their there.

I was like that for years. When I hit 25 contacts suddenly and inexplicably became intolerable. It’s like someone is blow drying my eyeballs.

I can normally tolerate them for the duration of a workout and that’s it.

Maybe I shouldn’t have fallen asleep drunk in them so often in university.

Carrots helping night vision was propaganda spread by the British government to explain why their pilots could find the enemy at night so easily.

In fact they had just invented radar.

They actually planted lots of carrots and the fools wasted bombs on the carrot fields.

Also, I look way sexier with my glasses on.

It does make martial arts difficult having to take them off though.

Putting something in your eye freaks me out so contacts are out of the question.

My research shows that LASIK can fuck up your low-light vision and won’t risk even a 2% chance of shit vision.

Costco is the place to go for either glasses or contacts. You can get the eye exam for either for cheap, and get contacts right there as well. I bought a year’s worth of contacts for $60.

If you haven’t already tried, experiment with several different types. They are all made differently, and some dry out on my eyes and others don’t.

I never ever wear my glasses. The peripheral blind spots cause me to run into things and trip a lot, especially going down stairs. I hate that.

I had Lasik done 8 yrs ago and it was the best money I ever spent. Was blind without my glasses, couldn’t even see the E on the top of the chart. Just don’t go with the cheapest place. That’s where all the horor stories come from.

Carrots aren’t meant to improve eyesight necessarily. The vitamin A in them helps with night vision. At least that’s what I’ve been led to understand.[/quote]

Batman eats carrots, and injects Vit A directly into his eyeballs.

Yup, I’ll second that. Wore contacts 99% of the time up until my mid 20’s. Then suddenly I couldn’t tolerate them anymore because of dryness. It sure wasn’t for lack of trying though!

Again, ditto.

Well, I never did that! I might have fallen asleep with them in once or twice, but I didn’t make a habit of it. What I do think happened is that the hormones shifted and resulted in a slight change in tear quantity and quality.

Don’t lose hope though. I’m just recently back in contacts. They’ve made a lot of improvements in the materials (and cost) and I can wear them pretty comfortably for up to about 5 or 6 hours. Sometimes I have to add a little eye lube. And speaking of improvements, the new eye lubes have greatly improved too!

That said, being middle age they can only correct my distance vision. I still have to wear “readers” for up close. It would be the same if I had surgery, so wearing contacts has given me a chance to see what that would be like. I think the window of opportunity for having surgery has pretty much passed. Even if they fixed my distance vision I’d still have to use “readers” way too much for it to make much sense to risk having surgery.

Gettin’ old sucks!

Glasses are overprescribed a little to make ur eyesight worse. Use the bates method to improve ur eyesight. I cant describe it all in this post, but you have to read the online book provided on this site:

William Bates’ book:

It is free. It works if you do it right, and you dont have to pay for anything.

eye doctors are assholes that are trying to make money off of glasses and contacts.

False. The British made that story up to mislead the world about their new invention, which was radar. The germans wondered why all the british pilots were suddenly able to evade almost every attack and enemy aircraft, so the Brits let a rumor leak out that it was because the pilots ate alot of carrots.

EDIT : Shit, Spry beat me to it. By a day…

Try bending coins with your eyes, I think it worked for the world’s strongest man:

I can’t afford LASIK, I don’t wear them when I train so I squint my eyes to the point I look asian to read the numbers on the DBs.
