As a doctor you get to see the presents hiding in that roll. And the stench will make you puke.
As a doctor he gets to do a pelvic on patients like this, I have done it, the cottage cheese sitting on your shoulders as you are looking for the cervix and labial fat is obstructing your view is awesome.
Nooooooooooooo. I’m going to be kept awake with these nightmares
I get to look forward to doing foley caths on people like this. I will probably end up passing out in someones crotch trying to find the hole.
When you have a really fat guy and his dick is sucked in, push on his stomach real hard and his peter will come out of its shell.

Just medical knowledge I like to drop from time to time

That sounds awful as well. And just try and make sure you pass out backwards. Make sure you are positioned so that backwards is the only place to fall.

It’s almost like you need something to prop and hold up all that extra business.

Ive had three nasal fractures so I cannot smell. … but the MA assisting in these normally leave the room and left me alone.

Dont do OB or family practice.
Well you are lucky and unlucky at the same time.

Both would be a terrible fit for the patients and myself. The only time I will most likely do those is rotations. Unless my brain does a large 180. Neither of those have really anything that fit me or anything I like.

I’m here all night guys, workin til 7am.
I trimmed it. Decided to go for the permanent 5 o’clock shadow look. Knowing I can grow an epic stache in less than a month is enough for me.

I have done everything in medicine, started out as a Respiratory therapist at 18, then a nurse. During that time I worked, ER, ICU, Med Surge, Home Health, cardiac rehab, surgery, nursery and intake for CPS.

As a nurse practitioner I worked as family practice for 3 years, then got a job for an Occupational Medicine company based out of Baton Rouge. After 5 years they made me managing partner, I am currently building out a new clinic in Houston outside of Baytown. We have clients like Exxon, Jacobs, Turner, Shaw, US airforce, NASA and many others. Lets just say its a big raise.

The occ clinic I am opening is going to be in a joint venture with an ortho friend of mine, one of his partners will have half the building. The goal is to next build one in Corpus, Beaumont, Lake Charles etc. I really dont do medicine much any more, its all business and just routine physicals DOT etc.

That’s quite the amazing résumé. Such diversity in experience. You conquered the medicine practice now moving on to conquer the business side. That’s exceptional

I find it interesting that a woman would find it unreasonable for a man to be “jaded” if he lacks a woman in his life and is finding it hard to get one in his life.

Should have gone to med school, but having a child at 17 kind of prevented that, so I just did what I had to do

Or that talk of the issue of a lonely man is “pedantic”, as if we were trying to show off our knowledge on this unsavory topic that most would rather not even be burdened with. I’m “taken”–have a fiance–but find the topic reasonable for discussion in this day and age. I had to go on seemingly or ACTUALLY a hundred dates before I found her and by my own volition didn’t take up opportunities in situations in which quite a few women did like me but I suffered a stiflingly low self-image in order for it to further; so I can empathize, and if someone thinks it’s funny or unimportant, realize that it’s quite opposite! Most men, most PEOPLE, don’t want to go through life alone and for others to belittle this feelings of loneliness or “jadedness” is not cool in my opinion.

You (Derek) should of gone back later. Each year the avg age is shifting to being a little older. The majority of my class is 1-2 years out of undergrad with 10 or so “non traditional” that have been out of school for a number of years. About 30 are married and 1/2 of them have or are expecting kids. But sounds like you did great with the cards you were dealt and made the most out of it

Great point, but how do you instill drive and goals into people? How do you inspire people to fix themselves before they try to find a partner in life?

Instilling drive is hard and I don’t know how to do that as I have no understanding of lack of drive.

But I am not sure you need to be fixed or at least completely fixed, before finding that person. If that person truly is a good match they will understand and help you through it.

Actually thought about it and I had many Doc friends try to talk me into it. But I remarried a lady with 3 kids, one special needs. It was more important to find other means of success and happiness. Plus I found what I really enjoy doing, right now I have about 40 staff I manage, which should double in the the next year. I have found out I am really good at doing that, it brings me satisfaction and now I am financially secure so that is what matters.
