Girlfriend Deadlifting Video

Nice lift! Looked solid all the way through. You can see it’s difficult but it looked clean and mechanical (for lack of a better descriptor), didn’t look like she was struggling at all. Is that her max deadlift?
Really it was her first time doing singles. I think she has more in her. We will find out because after the lift she said that she love lifting that heavy so I think she is officially hooked on heavy pulls. We will let you know her progress.

Way to ruin my High, I was all pumped because my wife did 4x8 sumos last night with 135, she’s about 120lbs. Tell Jada great job.

As for her form it still looked MUCH better than most people I have seen in action.

Dude thats 8 reps your talkin about. There is a bit of a difference doing 8reps and 1rep. You should be proud of her. Totally different amount of volume. I think thats a great job and you should be proud to have a wife that trains like that.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I am thrilled, she does an amazing job… I didn’t mean to seem like I was not excited about it. Just saying that in my head I was amazed at what My wife did, I’m even more amaized at his GF. That’s all. We are going to max in 4 weeks, I can’t wait to see what she can do.

Very nice pull! Ditto what Beef said. Ditch the pant and get her some chalk.

I know it was training advice, but Erica just told Jana to lose the pants.

Fantastic.

Ive been having a lack of motivation for going to the gym lately. Guess its back now, thanks Jada

Great work Mrs. Hanley… seriously, no women at the gyms I work out at even touch weight of that volume.

Question: she did chalk up right ? I think I see the chalk bowl in the background.

I bet she’s not even bitching about the calluses after hitting that weight. Sheesh

Uh… also noticed she is pulling what looks like 255 or so…(insert “holy shit” about here) I know you mentioned that she was doing 210+ but at 130 lbs bodyweight… that’s just amazing.
Did she lift when she was a swimmer too ? Just wondering if earlier training methods contributed to this.

What a great lift! Great looking girl too.

I’ll show that to the guys/girls I train. It’ll get them motivated.

You guys need to chill with the anti-DW rhetoric. It’s getting very old. BTW, I did a 445 deadlift, earlier today. :)
BWAHAHAHHAHA!!

“anti-DW rhetoric”? it seems our erstwhile proliferation of whimsical pedantic strategizing has appropriated the most poignant evisceration of DW’s pick-up-of-da-wates.

oh yeah, mike, that’s fricken swizzle!

Fucking spectactular

what the hell did you just say?
I just got my girl deadlifting, she isn’t going real heavy just yet, though. Right now she is using her dad’s crappy sandfilled weights or whatever they are, you guys know what I’m talking about. Its better than nothing I suppose.

Thanks so much for all of your comments and suggestions! I appreciate the form feedback and I’ll be sure to try some flatter shoes for the next time. That was my first time ever max lifting anything and it was amazing! I chickened out a bit and decided to stop at 210 but I think with a few adjustments and all your encouragement I’ll try hard as hell for 225 in the near future.
As for the question about my training history and swimming… I did weight training through high school and college but certainly had no guidance in lifting heavy or program design for optimum strength. I ran the captains practices and pool deck plyos but was pretty uneducated at the time to be doing so. Most of my advances in training are do to my amazing boyfriend’s guidance and support as well as furthering my own education in the field as a CSCS. Needless to say though, I never would be where I am now if it weren’t for him. He’s my hero. xoxo
ps
Guys, keep encouraging and supporting your lady’s! They’ll thank you for it later

Consistency is the key. Training slumps are normal. In fact, my boyfriend suggested I try the DL singles that day because I was bored and unmotivated in the middle of my workout. It was just the thing to get me pumped about progress again. My point being, even when your disinterested, show up and do SOMETHING, ANYTHING that peaks your interest, works your body, and gets you pumped.

Here is a video of my girlfried who goes by the name of Jada on this site doing some DL singles. She has just started training a bit heavier than she is used to. A former college swimmer who is extremely strong. This video is of her pulling 210#. She weighs 130. Enjoy

210#?
Yeah I wouldn’t lie about a thing like that lol. We had a 45 bumper plate, a 15 bumper plate and two 10’s on each side.

My bad, and also a 2.5 on each.

that’s the point. “anti-DW rhetoric” doesn’t make any sense. that’s like saying that we are so good at orating anti-DWness that we convince everybody. he used it like it was synonymous with “comments”.

I was wondering about that too, only because it looked like something like 255ish, but I guess the 15lb bumper plates are the larger ones that look a little like 45s.

Not to take anything away from the lift. That was awesome, especially for it being the first time going for a single.

It definitley looks like your true max is higher. Let us know how you progress.

This place is getting even more motivating for myself and my wife.

Thanks!

Soon we will post a video of Jada picking up a 155lb sandbag which is really fun yet challenging.
