Girl With the Most Cake

Was she serious? You and Git both. The things women say to you. Of course, Git’s takes the cake.

Sorry for the hijack, Kimba. Especially when you’re in the midst of serious issues. I hope your MIL gets better soon and doesn’t require surgery to correct the problem. Surgery at 86 can’t be fun. Hang in there, girly.

deja, thanks darlin’.

Joe, that was a silly comment. You are muscular and that is ATTRACTIVE. Keep on curling. Honestly, that is the sort of comment us chicks are more likely to get.

Snapper and anyone else, hijack away. The OR family waiting room is packed, but quite uninteresting (yes, that means my poor MIL is getting cut open…unfortunately).

Sorry to hear about your mom-in-law.
Geez, I hope she gets through the surgery okay

Uhm… I’m a 2% girl as well.
Joe, you can’t say that you’re not muscular and have that avvie. That’s a bigger oxymoron than jumbo shrimp.

sending good thoughts your way******

I was under the impression there’d be cake here in large amounts.

damn Kimba. When it rains it poors.

Joe: you can tell said person that a certain Frenchie known for her great taste finds you far from “icky” my e-friend. Icky for me is the jacked up pics T-Nation likes to tout as the ultimate portrayal of Alpha. Which for me, are as tasteless as the parade of bubble-boobs on the first page. Now some of these (both men and women) are good looking, but in general I don’t go for fakey.

Nikki and Betty, thanks for your kind thoughts. Her surgery went great! And there is even a mini-bar in her hospital room now, and no I am not kidding.

Ct., oh but there is cake. Its just hidden in past log pages.

N., yeah – no joke as it was POURING on me today, literally as well. November is rapidly becoming my least favorite month.

MIL doing better (and she doesn’t whine). Mom doing better (and she is a whiner supreme). This day could’ve sucked worse.

That is such great news!

And the mini-bar makes everything better

good news indeed!

and a mini-bar for the stressed out visitors? or is the the new post surgery pain management?

I’m so glad to hear that things went smoothly. Surgery can be problematic at any age.

Mini bar? I like that idea for post op pain management. Somehow it sounds so much nicer than meds.

Keep your head up and keep marching forward; when things go down, they go up again.

Glad to hear things went well during the Sx. The mini bar cracked me up though.

Now here’s hoping theres no more family health issues for a good long time.

wow- that’s why you pay for you med care - you expect a mini-bar? just teasin

As a side note, did anyone else ponder exactly how expensive a hospital mini-bar could be?

yes…

I am running around like headless chicken, but I did train yesterday:

5/3/1 - Wave 11, Week 3 – Sumo Deadlift and MP Day

MPs
48.5 1 x 5
55# 1 x 3
61.5# 1 x 2 <–money set, I was happy with this.

Ever since I stopped training military presses on separate days by themselves, I’ve really sucked at them. Oh well.

Sumo Deads
from floor:
95# 1 x 5
115 1 x 3
I’m happy with how easy these were, small plates from the floor.
140.5# 1 x 5
159# 1 x 3 <–nice and easy
178# 1 x 3 <–money set, crappy back form
145# 1 x 3

Frankly, I was just happy to get the money set off the floor once given the week I’ve had. I almost talked myself out of deadlifting altogether due to tired. I’m glad I didn’t. My best multi-rep pulls previously were 175# for 3, so I’m happy with this.

Neutral grip pullups
3/2/2/3 busted my ass to get the last one on the last set because I wanted 10 total
supersetted with

Pistols to bench
3 x 10 each leg

Now its off to a fancy dinner at a latin restaurant. I so deserve a margarita.

yes you do. cheers!

Glad the Moms are doing better! My mom likes to play the martyr, so I understand about the whining. I don’t know which I’d rather have.

N, I love your new avi!!!

Thanks Grneyes

im now picturing a drunk headless chicken in heels and pearls. its name is kim.

had i known you were in OR waiting room i wouldve sent many more humorous txt msgs. at least, ones that i think are funny.

Glad the MIL isn’t a whiner. Its not impolite to hang up on your birth mother. Expected, actually.

Ahh, you’re so far ahead of me on sumo DL that there’s no way I can catch up. All the more reason to never train sumo again. I’m not sure I can pull 3 x 178 conventional, come to think of it.

Nice work. Especially given the challenges this week.

And, yes, you deserve a drink.
