Giant Sets For Size

Hello CT,

Following your different articles on “strenght circuits” I ask myself the question of using giants sets but for a single muscle group.

Example:
Chest :

  1. Bench press (4-6 reps)
  2. Dumbbell bench press (10-12)
  3. Flys (15-20)
    rest
    x 3 or 4 sets

Would it be possible to use this type of sets for all muscles by following a frequent approach (like half body or push pull) 6x per week or this is too much volume to recover from?

PS : I’m a 2b

Thanks coach !

While it is a solid method, it’s not something you can do 6x a week for all muscle-groups. At the most you can hit a muscle twice a week like that.

Thank you CT!

For you, how many exercise can I put together ?

And the reps mentioned before are ok (4-6 then
10-12 then 15-20) or it’s better to keep the same rep range ?

What I mean is that frequency and volume are oppositions. The higher the volume for a muscle is, the less frequency you can have. One giant set like you mentioned provides 90-150 reps per muscle. If you use a push/pull approach it gives you workouts of 300-450 reps.

Compare that to the Built for Battle plan than has 75, it’s not even comparable.
