I couldn’t pick my kid up from school or take care of him for that matter - had to hire someone to do it (net cost of say ~$250?).
Let’s say it aggravated and ulcer and I needed medical attention - more missed time from work and money (call it ~$1500). So of the OP COST me ~$2000 (the equivalent of stealing from me) and had me in PAIN for two or three days, you think that’s FUNNY? Maybe that’s funny in Texas, but I assure you it’s NOT funny on the East Coast! LOL

I did see a funny interaction of the two though in my last semester at school. There was some educational entitlement program going on through the student aide program, the gist of which was to get college aged kids from the city into some technical programs so that they would develop some industrial vocation.
The welding program attracts people from the five surrounding counties, which once outside of Allegheny are almost solely rural. The kids were horsing around and figuring out who is who. A couple of inner city kids were messing with one big ole hay bailing country boy, and he was having a good time tossing them around like sacks of dust.
As it escalated the one city kid said “I don’t give a fuck how big you are, I’ll put a cap in your ass” to the country boy. Country boy laughed and said “What? With your gun turned sideways and shooting everybody but me?” then laughed in his face as he told him he could drop him from the ridge across the valley with a .30-6.
City kid turns to me and another older guy who was watching them goof off. I confirmed that yes, he could, and added that he would be dead before the sound even reached his ears. Other older guy seconded this and added that city kid is out of his element here, and should definitely mind his manners and watch his ass.
The last statement, in my opinion, is largely why city thugs are city thugs, and most people further out are usually only shot in “hunting accidents”.

Yeah, I suppose it depends on which ocean you are swimming in. Point being, if I was being stalked by revenge minded wise guys, I’d take it to my ocean.
Also, in the created scenario, we put the “cowboys” on the defensive. Dirty Harry would have a thing or two to say about that. Even in the city, a distance shot with a .30-6 is effective and, given the mentioned scenario, if there were threats on my family I’d certainly go on the offensive, legally supported or not, and wouldn’t “give a shit”.

Anyways, your country boy story is pretty funny btw. I grew up in what was the outskirts of Houston. My district drew from some suburbs, urban areas and to the west, what had been county.
When the various Jr. Highs came together in HS, we had some interesting altercations.
I remember this big boned but not very muscular country dude getting picked on by a group of city kids (3), allegedly in a local “bloods” clique. He literally picked one up by the neck and slammed him on the tile floor like a hay bale. The other two tough guys ran off. They later made gun threats too. This country kid was already driving on a hardship (farm truck) and waited for them after school. He drove by waving a .357 he kept in the glove box and had put a .22 rifle from his back seat stading up in plain sight. (The kids had no idea how to differentiate a .22 from a real gun, just that it was a gun dawg). They never messed with him again.
As a note, our school was pretty lenient on guns. This was pre-911 and all that shit. Lots of kids kept guns in their trunks and truck cabs during hunting season, it was a short drive to great dove hunting fields. None were allowed out of the cars on campus of course but you could have them.
At football try outs, he said he had never lifted a weight in his life. It was believable, not a defined muscle on his body.
He benched 300 clean, squatted 360 and deadlifted over 400 as a freshman who had only worked a ranch. He went on to play college ball and some pro. Needless to say after lifting for four years, he was a fucking beast. He could shoot too, a real eagle eye.
