It seems out of all the articles on losing body fat I’ve read two ideas constantly contradict themselves.
On one end, some articles claim you can get yourself to a low body fat percentage simply by eating cleanly. 6 meals a day of lean protien, good carbs from veggies and oats, and dietary fats, while staying a calorie defficit.
On the other, some articles make it seem the only way to get to a low body fat percentage is by doing this, but also adding suppliments such as BCAA’s (not familiar with them), Omega 3 fish oil capsules, protein powder. post workout recovery shakes etc etc.
So my question is simply this:
Is it possible to get into single digit bf% by soley eating clean whole foods and kicking your own ass in the gym? Or do you need suppliments to get below that 10% mark.

You can do it fine with whole foods. The supplements just help considerably. Also you should not consider fish oil to be a supplement. It is something you should take everyday and think of it as food. If you don’t get anything else you, and all other humans, should eat (drink?) fish oil and olive oil. TBSP per day of each.
there are no negative benefits to either and their positive benefits are more numerous and handy than you can even imagine. there is no common human aliment that fish oil has not been proven over multiple accounts to help in some fashion or prevent.
In the end supplements are just really specific, deconstructed food.
it all depends on your genetics and how you were raised imo. i was raised very health concious and no one in my family is fat, we all work out and there isnt one guy in my family that doesnt have a good amount of muscle to them. im not saying that it is soley genetics but that makes up a good part of it.

This is the million dollar question. And it’s also impossible to answer as everyone is different. Any possible answer is only a theory incapable of being proven.
Some people can get down to <10% bodyfat eating a moderately decent diet, others will have to hit up the elliptical 3 times a week while eating like a perfectionist to do it.
IMO, 95% of people are capable of dropping into the single digit fat zone on diet alone, they just don’t have the willpower, for most people, dieting is pure mental torture…
And, since were not talking about competition bf%'s, a fat burner probably isn’t needed(though, itll amplify the effects of a clean diet and/or cardio), let alone drugs…
You are overstating the importance of supplements. A lot of things can be accomplished through proper diet and training. That includes single digit b.f.
the idea that you may have to get on the eliptical or you can just eat right has to do with genetics, now using drugs/supps can add to these benefits, im pretty sure obmas response was a quick sweep the feild comment. chill people/ personlly i agree with him, supplements never hurt anyone who took them right… it made them better.
my girlfriend is skinny as a rail ( with a nice ass i might add) and she eats w/e the hell she wants and has a really low bf% ( for a chic) w/o ever stepping foot in a gym. one of my buddies was 5foot 7 250 lbs then in a matter of a year he cuts to 160lbs, he worked his ass off used supplements ate correctly and now hes jacked.
everyone is different, to the OP, just experiment around with stuff, find what works for you. it is possible not to use supplements but they sure as hell will make it easier
