Getting to a 400 lb. Deadlift

I think the reason it takes some people a realy long time to get a good deadlift is deadlifting with some one elses form, hips low shoulder blades pinched kind of bullshit

Also some people try to muscle out a deadlift insead of useing speed for instance applying slow steady pressure until the bar breaks the floor VS grabing the bar and putting your heals through the floor

to many people spend to many of thier best workouts perfecting form with no weight and they have to perfect thier form because it dosent come natural to them this equals a shity deadlift.

every where I see people showing people proper deadlift form I see some one doing a leg press while holding the bar…

case and point if your just starting out and you can paralel squat what you can deadlift you might want to change your deadlift form.

but this only holds true to some people… there are a few guys out there who just arent built to deadlifting or they have realy bad nutrition rest and or genetics

but back on track of the inflated numbers

I aaalllmost never see inflated numbers on here if you have been deadlifting for five years and you pull 600+ I can belive that same for squats and bench if you have benched for five years I can definatley see you benching 400+

or maybe this is just my version of a perfect world

i just got 410. And i read that, that kinda hurts lol

Also, kids that claim the lifts they do, i wouldnt be too surprised if they were true. Ya they sound crazy but its possible.

What he is saying (and I agree) is that there are a lot of people on this very forum who speak of particular numbers on a lot of the Big 3 lifts, and DLing at least 405 is one of those things. What he’s then asking is where are those people out there?

if you post on T-Nation and you are physicaly able to deadlift and you dont well in the eyes of T-Nation your half a man

so guys throw in a few deadlift workouts here and there for a couple months and they are at 400

how many people do you know in the gym your friends that you might have turned on to T-Nation excluded… that found T-Nation on thier own and read and post on T-Nation who dont deadlift 400+

I dont know any one who found this site on thier own I dont even know any one who reads on it daily

I think a 400 pounds deadlift is impressive. That is a lot of weight to pick up off of the ground.

I’m not “big” and I can deadlift 420. If I can do that, it ain’t that big of a deal.

I only know one person that reads T-Nation regularly (of about 5 people) that cannot deadlift over 400lbs. None of the 5 people train together at all. If you can’t deadlift 405lbs and you train on a semi-regular basis, you need to reconsider how you train unless you are under 150 or over 6’4".

In my humble opinion deadlifting from the ground using 45 pound plates or larger diameter is a joke.

If you want to seriously deadlift 400 pounds, stand on a box or use smaller diameter weight so the bar starts at your feet, instead of at your knees.

Ha! You call that lifting?

I put the weight in a hole, then I stand on a cement block just above the hole and with hands greased up (just to make it harder) I lift the weight.
LMAO. thats some funny shit. i was laughing so hard my sweetmates had to see what was so funny.

beachboi

I feel stronger when my numbers go up, not when other people’s numbers go down.

There’s no special criteria for joining and participating in these forums, but special people are obvious to those who know what to look for.

If you’re serious 400 lbs is just like any other number, a milestone passed while on the path to improvement.

“Suite-mates”…as in, people you share the suit with. “sweetmates” sure does sound…“sweet”. I would say that’s gay but they might throw you out of school if that shows up on your computer screen.

Either way, if someone looks like they have never touched a weight yet they claim a 400lbs deadlift, they will not be believed by many.

I don’t even know why this is an argument. Unless you fit that description and no one can look at you and tell you have ever lifted a weight, why would that bother anyone?

When you go to a gym with a sign that says " Do Not Drop Dumbells " , how many people do you expect to see loading up and dropping 4,5, and 6 plates?

Not going to happen.

As far as calling bullshit on lighter guys numbers, this seems to be CA laws favorite pastime.

I am thoroughly convinced that he is fat and weak.

He also refuses to put up or shut up,
Which is also prety damn weak. Especially for all of the shit he likes to talk.

What realy cracks me up though is the 165 fixation. That just happens to be the weight I have listed in my profile.

But hell, at least it isn’t a couple hundred pounds of fat weakness.

LMAO. Niiiiice find!

Then again, he needs straps to pull 500 for 6. Politico must’ve meant he can pull 420 without straps. Or something like that.

WOW.

Anyone who actually believes this is an idiot. Straps don’t make that much of a difference.

Nice job, dude. You call someone out for being an e-lifter and it turns out you yourself are one.
And here I was just wondering where I can buy lifting straps that can add damn near 100lbs to any lift. Do they come with some really big dude who can actually do the lift attached to them?..and how do you fit that in a gym bag?

^^ nah it comes with a small pocket hercules.

Lol, these straps are like 3 feet long. Ronnie uses them, his ‘raw’ deadlift is only 400 guys, 400 really is that much!
