Good job on your DL I think sometimes it is easier to lift the weight when we don’t know how much it is. ![]()
Diana
Just so long as you don’t do what I did and put a 45lb plate on one side and a 35lb plate on the other… you can’t screw up your deadlift too bad. ![]()
Hey it was a long day and I was tired!
HI there. I’ve been following and enjoying your log.
I had to laugh about the weight mistake. I truly believe that a lot of what stops us is mental. Like I can’t seem to get beyond 95lb on a power clean. I’m sure it’s in my head.
We can do more than we think if we stop thinking sometimes.

No I don’t but that’s not a bad idea if I can coerce my daughter into doing it for me.
Julie
Today was horrible. 2 Hour physics exam followed by body shaping. Finally got to the gym with a killer headache. It only hurt when I stood up, sat down, lay down, or bent over. ![]()
Goblet squat
30 x 5
65 x 3 x 5
Bench
57 1/2 x 5
70 x 3 x 5
BB row
57 1/2 x 5
65 x 3 x 5
First, I couldn’t get good form on the squats. I could barely get the DB up to my chest. Keeping the same weight next time.
Then, during my rows, some guy stood there and out right stared at me the whole time. It was disgusting. (“nice ink”-yeah, thanks.)
The only good thing was the pull up- I’m really getting up there. Next time I’m gonna hang like a monkey and get the heck up there with no jump.
weight is still 135, but I can’t eat. I just gotta hang in there.
weight is 133- I got a pull up unassisted!!!
Goblet squat
30 x 5
65 x 3 x 5
military press
DB 20 x 5
BB 55 x 3 x 5
DL
65 x 5
110 x 5
135 x 3 x 5- yay!
You’re a beast.
I knew you’d do it. Your other lifts were nice too!
Keep going!!!
Yay! for the pull-up. Wasn’t it exciting?
The 135 DL is such a great point to get too. Did you find it easier for your positioning and all with the 45lb plats on each side. Once I got to 135 my DL flew right up.
Are the goblet squats better for you now?
Hi Ronda: Thanks so much for the encouragement.
Goblet squats were getting difficult- getting a 65 lb. DB up to my chest was hard, and I couldn’t go as deep. I tried back squats today.
I didn’t notice the DL being any easier with the 2 45 lb. plates, but I’ll pay attention next time.
The pull up is the most exciting- I got one today without any tippy toe action- all on my own!
Fri A day
back squat wide stance
bar x 2 x 5
70 x 3 x 5
Bench
60 x 2 x 5
72 1/2 x 3 x 5
BB row
60 x 2 x 5
67 1/2 x 2 x 5
Thanks, Adam, for your support. I think we’re “getting stronger”, don’t you?
It is great to see a female that is really trying to push herself and gain some strength and size as opposed to the stereotypical female who says “I don’t want to lift weights because I don’t want to get too bulky” Keep up the good work and keep going heavy.
I also think that you may want to up your caloric intake a little bit considering the classes and other activities that you are involved in, just keep it clean. You may have headaches because you might just be hungry, grab a protein bar and hit it hard.
Hey thanks everyone!
Today was disappointing, yeah, I need to eat better. Adam keeps telling me, but alas…
Body shaping class warm up
Pull up attempt from hanging- did NOT get it.
Time constraints- could only DL.
DL
70 x 5
115 x 5
140 x 3- lost my grip
140 x 3- lost my grip
changed to under-over grip from an overhand grip.
140 x 5- better. It felt sooo heavy.
Maybe because I ate cake last night?
I am keeping the same exercises on Wed- DL, squat, military press. Also keeping the same weights, I feel myself stalling. yikes!

This is a “before” picture, but I did get that pull up I’ve been crying about, so I must have progressed a little. Thanks for taking the picture, Adam!

Such a great feeling isn’t it!!! Awesome job, next time you will hit 2…before you know it you will be adding a weight belt. Great job ![]()
Unassisted pull up!
Body shaping class
Back squat- wide stance, got almost parallel, it’s an issue.
bar x 2 x 5
75 x 3 x 5
military press
DB 30 x 2 x 5
BB 57 1/2 x 3 x 5
DL
70 x 5
115 x 5
140 x 3 x 5- made them, under over grip, yay!
Good job on the dead lift. My grip gives out first on my DL
Keep it up.
