Hey Guys,
my name is David and I am from Germany, so please apologize my bad english.
Well, for two years I wanted to become a bodybuilder. Now, bodybuilding training is getting too boring. I am very interested in strongman and in one or two years I want to compete in a Newcomer Strongman Cup in Germany.
Still there is a little bodybuilder inside of me. I want to become strong and look strong at the same time. Perfect examples here are Derek Poundstone and Elliot Hulse.
My problem is, that I dont have acces to strongman equipment like atlas stones, yoke, farmers walk cases and so on. The next “Strongman Center” is in Stuttgart, 100km away from my home.
So which workout should I do? I thought about Madcows 5x5, because I really like ramped sets. I replaced normal squats with front squats and bench press with overhead press. On Mondays and Fridays I also add tricep extensions and shrugs.
Will this work? Is Madcows 5x5 enough volume for building strength AND muscle?
Information about me:
I am 21 years old, 186cm, 96kg.
Back squat max: 160kg
Deadlift max: 210kg
Overhead press max: 100kg
Bench press Max: 115kg
Barbell rows: 122,5kg x 5
