I will start lifting again to prepare myself for summer baseball. Haven’t been in the weight room since January because of school baseball but I have been performing body weight exercises.
Over the course of September to January, here are my 1RMs from September to now.
Bench: 106 to 150
Squat: 190 to 250
Deadlift: 210 to 275
One thing that I would like to develop is a more aggressive mentality. I used to be pretty good at turning nervous energy into aggression, not so much anymore. After watching some Matt Kroc videos, I used to get really pissed like him but I’m not as aggressive anymore. The things that used to piss me off don’t anymore. Any ideas on how to gain that mental edge back?

Watch your parents die. It’s good enough for Batman, it’s good enough for you.

Before a lift. Matt Kroc style[/quote]
Unless you’re in a competition, I don’t really see a lot of value in this. Keep in mind, the videos you are seeing of Matt Kroc are before hitting some sort of PR. If you buy his DVD and see how he trains normally, it’s pretty normal stuff. If you try to psyche yourself up before every lift, you’re just going to drain yourself and most likely not get stronger.
That’s what I’m talking about. I usually test every month or so. The stuff that used to get me pissed has come and gone. Looking for new ways to do it when I’m testing for a PR.

Well since I’m not the grade A comedian I thought I was I guess I’ll give you some actual help.
I think the best answer to your question is don’t. Get used to lifting normally, do your workouts, put the work in, and take the progress as it comes. It won’t take long and you’ll be repping out your current max without any of the hyping up. You’re a sophomore in high school, trust me when I say there will be plenty of time and things to be pissed about. When something happens and it re-lights the fire in you, you’ll know and then you’ll be able to get back to killing shit
