Hey, Jimmyeatworld: think of it this way: the body does not know how to decipher between a potato and a cookie or pizza. A carbohydrate is a carbohydrate, protein is protein, salt is salt and so on. YOU are doing that. YOU are craving things that you have deemed “bad” and you cannot have. The human body doesn’t need pizza (I’m only using pizza since it seems to be the primary craving here in this forum!) - it needs the nutrients and the stuff like carbs, protein, etc provided by food. I know, I know - maybe I’m going overboard here - but I’ve been where you are dude! Except my thing is beer, and mango margaritas! Oh my god! I have to cut BEER out now (pre-contest)!!! But I’ll live and the beer will always be there. But as was said previously - BE STRONG. It does get easier. Really. Y’know thank god for this thread! right?
Here’s what I’m doing at the moment. Training: 3 weights workouts per week (Pushing, Pulling, “Ancillary”-type day). Cardio: 1 game of indoor soccer, 1 endurance/interval run followed by a long swimming session (part of University training - don’t have a choice here, runs for about 1.5-2 hours), 1-2 supplementary cardio workouts (either rope work, boxing, TC’s 50m Dash, Tabata on the stationary cycle etc.). Diet: obviously the most important part. 4-5 meals plus post-workout shakes mixed as per Berardi’s advice. Calories always between 10-12x body-weight. 2-3 P+F meals, 1-2 P+C meals daily, on average (excluding post-workout). Mainly eating steak, oatmeal, chicken, lower GI fruits (strawberries and apples), tuna and salmon, whole wheat bread every couple of days. Every 3-4 days, depending on when my game of indoor soccer falls and how many energy levels are feeling (given the attention I pay to my studies, I don’t like them suffering too much as a result of a diet) I will have a “refeed day” - or half-day - when I consume all of my calories from P+C meals. This process keeps my energy topped up and my brain firing on all cylinders when I most need it, makes sure my performance in games doesn’t drop, and even in the improving fat-loss (anybody read anything about leptin?).
Which do you all think is better… T2 or T2-pro ???
Do you or your boyfriend have a good recipie to make a salad dressing from flax oil ??? I’ve been craving some roughage, might as well make it on the positive side.
podge - As I’m sure you know, T2 is mainly a replacement alternative to natural thyroid T3 production and T2 PRO is to support natural thyroid output. T2 is to thyroid hormone as androsol or Mag-10 is to androgenic hormones while T2 PRO is to thyroid support as Tribex is to T support. I’ve used the T2 several times and am currently using it and have also used the T2 PRO. My personal experiences as such are that if on an ultra low cal diet such as I an currently using (yeah I know - its not recommended - see my previous posts) thyroid hormone is natually suppressed anyway during low cal dieting and therefore I get much better results with T2 but if on a moderate calories diet, thyroid hormone isn’t totally suppressed, just somewhat limited and T2 PRO can help support natural thyroid levels through natural means during moderate cal diets. T2 PRO can also help restore natural thyroid AFTER coming off a low cal diet (you can use T2 during low cal diet then switch to T2 PRO when coming off diet - thats what I’m going to do). Good luck.
I’ll ask Ko about this and tell him to post here.
I just use the regular season packets in a shaker bottle and sub flax for whatever oil it calls for. It makes it look bright orange but it tastes surprisingly much better than any other kind of oil - even olive. Considering how nasty flax is I was shocked.
Flax seed oil is not used much in the restaurant business, or atleast I have never come across it. Try this website www.flaxcouncil.ca/flaxpd5.htm . They had a little info. From what I read their is no reason why you could not use it in a dressing. Does it coagulate in the fridge? That is the only problem that i could foresee. As I understand it has a nutty flavor so I would try some sherry vinegar and a little salt and pepper, chopped shallots would also be nice. In general the ratio for vinaigrettes 3 to 1, oil to vinegar but you can play with it to suit your taste.
thanks !!.. i cut and pasted your suggestion and i’m going to try that this weekend… as far as storing flax in the fridge, from all i’ve read, Flax oil HAS to be stored in the fridge. (F.Y.I.)
Down to 7.65% from 11.7% about 25 days ago. I haven’t had more than 100 carbs in the past three weeks. Hopefully, another two weeks will do it. According to my calculations from weight and BF%, only 4 lbs. of what I’ve lost hasn’t been fat (I assume it’s glycogen). How is everyone else doing? I’d love to hear that others are suffering as bad as I am! It sure made midterms interesting…
Good job Eric! Man, it seems like single digits is so far away and to think that one day I will see my abs clearly is a whole other topic. I’m down another 2lbs, but won’t be taking skinfolds until Sunday. I’m still fat enough to where the mirror does not really give good feedback over short periods of time. I figure that if I put the effort to getting down to my desired body fat level, it will be a lot easier to stay there than it was to get there in the first place. Just like what we’ve talked about on previous threads about maintaining body fat percentage. Keep up the good work, you’re almost there!
Thanks, buddy. As an added bonus to the 40 minutes of cardio I just cranked out, my metabolic rate is sky high now after giving that little shit a piece of mind when he mouthed off to your Mag-10 dosage post! Hell, I think that just replying burned 50 calories!
Thanks for the support, bud! I never know quite how to handle a situation like that. I never know if someone is just being lazy or is just completely unaware of the other features of this site. I usually assume the latter, but I assumed the former that time and got nailed for it. I’m not trying to piss people off, just make them aware of what else is here.
Hey thanks for the motivation there. I also read everything I have that was written by Bruce Lee and Arnold, they were/are incredibly motivated. So today at work I see the jam donut on the table while taking a break. Thought for a second about devouring it and tasting the sweetness. But the sweetness will not be concerned with me. I laughed at that donut. I do not need you, you insulin-spiking-processed-empty calorie filled-worthless pile of simple carbs. My will power has been replenished. Its at about 7/10 efficiency ![]()
Just an update for the past week. Previously I had posted had lost 24 lbs and went from 15% to 8% BF in 8 weeks. My goal is 6%. I seem to have been stuck at 8% for the past week (this is actuslly end of week 9) after making steady gains (losses) during the first 8. Actually I’ve gained 3 lbs the past week but the calipers still say 8% even though I feel leaner and think my abs look a little more defined in spite of the 3 lb gain. The 3 lb weight gain I attribute to reintroducing creatine back into my supp schedule. I had stopped creatine after the biceps tendon injury in Dec. My training poundages are slowly going up but am taking it slow due to still in rehab and recovering. However, I am lifting and feeling stronger than at any time since my rehab started and actually think my muscles look fuller in spite of the low carb/calorie diet but attribute part of that to the creatine. It was disturbing and frustrating to gain 3 lbs the past week in spite of keeping calories at 1500 and even stepped up the cardio out of paranoia. But I’m convinced the gain was actually LBM gain as strength is up a little and probably due to creatine holding some water. I do “feel” leaner but calipers still say 8%. 6% seems so close but so far at this point. Will have to see how next week goes. Gotta go - tonite’s lifting nite.
Hey everyone i’m undertaking the Fat fast + meltdown training program starting tomorrow (march 9th). I’m glad to see that all of you are doing well on them and sticking to your plans. The result of your pains will be the reward.
Due to money restrictions because of school and the supplements to help retain muscle, I can only take in 1060 calories a day. Here’s a jpeg of my meal plan (yes only 4 meals). I’m not worried about if I will pull through it or not. The reason for this is because I have great will power and have been tested many times, in fact I never eat junk food only once a year on New Years eve. The rebound is what i’m most worried about so following Bill Roberts and John Beradis recommendations I have planned to follow these guidelines. http://members.rogers.com/ subhuman-lfn/rebound.jpg
For the 6 weeks on rebound I plan to use Dry oats as my main carb source including a few select Fruits/Veggies.
STATS: 230 lbs 14% body fat
Fat mass: 32.2 lbs
I’ll be happy at 5-7% and hope to retain all muscle with mag 10. Anyways, I’ll keep you posted. Good luck to all of you ![]()
Hey, everyone, I think the unlikely, nay impossible may be happening. I think I’m losing bodyfat and building muscle at the same time! I weighed myself this morn. and I’m the same as two weeks ago, which is weird cause
I usually lose about 5lbs. of water pretty quick when I reduce my carbs. “So what?” your thinking huh? Well not only do I look leaner (hello abs) but I’m a lot stronger in the gym, in fact I set new PRs in both squat and deadlift! My diet is still as posted above, but I started Androsol 35 sprays morn only and Vpx’s Xenabol (sorry Biotest guys, still love your stuff). Is life good or what? Or am I crazy, b/c I feel like the shit now and usually feel like shit on low carbs.
I have yet to check out your web page and I will, but I’m about to start another post about Meltdown on low carb diets, so please check that out.
How long have you been using the androsol. I have been using Tribex now for 4 weeks post MAG-10 and I now plan to drop the Tribex after Sunday and switch over to androsol at 35 am sprays per day. Also using MD6 and T2-Pro as mentioned before. Glad to hear that things are going well with you. Please keep me posted on your progress, aside from the fact that your diet is lower in carbs then mine, there are more similarties in our diet than differences. Also, what kind of training are you doing?
Keep up the good work Heb, you’ll get there and to Jimmyeatworld: keep laughing at those donuts:)
