It really is hard to get all those calories in eating clean. I try to stick to high(er) fat choices for extra cals. Olive oil in my shakes, nuts with all my P/F meals, 12 omega eggs a day, ANPB, etc.
We have a killer burger place here in town that I frequent weekly. Two double hamburgers gives me about 1300 kcals. An order of fries pushes that to around 2000 kcal.
I wish I could stomach milk. Anymore than 8oz or so at a time kills my guts. I used to drink quite a bit and it really does help to pack on the size. Especially if you are under weight and just starting out.

Anybody recommend any digestive enzyme supplement?
I know that I generally use whatever I can find cheap while I’m really throwing down calories.
Has anybody also thought about Poliquin’s HCL supplementation idea when bulking?
Fiber is a must, but thanks for the reminder Ratchet.

This is sort of off the beaten track, and may sound like an old wives’ tale, but Angostura bitters is a digestive and appetite stimulant (which is originally why they were used in cocktails, I believe, because they helped people eat and drink more).
Not to be used in place of enzymes, but a couple of spoonfuls can increase your appetite when you have a lot of food to get down, and helps digestion. I’d be curious to know if anyone on here uses bitters.
jehovahfitness posted a nice recipe (somewhere on this site?) for protein balls sometime ago. there are a good way to pack in a lot of healthy calories. i personally think these taste fantastic. they have the added benefit of being easily transportable. here is his recipe again:
Protein Power Balls (lifesaver for me)
Good for bulk as is
Cut out apricots and honey for cutting
Easy to make, about 10 mins
I can get the macro breakdown later
Mix ingredients in food processor
1/2 c sunflower seeds
1/3 c wheat germ
2 TBSP flax seed meal
1/3 c dried apricots
1/3 c walnuts
1.5 sccops Muscle Milk chocolate (or Metabolic Drive)
once finely chopped, add
1/2 c Natty PB
1 TBSP honey
mix again till it starts to clump a little
roll into golf size balls
roll in sesame seeds if desired
You can tweak it if you want to cut sugar
230 cals per ball, an easy way to pack in some protein, healthy fats, and fiber

I did a half-gallon or whole gallon of milk a day for a while. The gains kept coming, but I put on a bit too much bad weight.
Do you already buy food in bulk? Costco sells DiGiorno’s pizza in three or four packs relatively cheap ($15 or less, I think, I could be way off) and that stuff is delicious. Good way to get a hold of walnuts as well.
Don’t buy lean beef, that’s another good way. If you buy ground, buy like, 80/20 as opposed to 90/10 or something, tastes better too. Costco stocks bags of 80/20 burger patties the size of your thigh. Also, bags of sliced cheddar cheese (but not that Kraft crap.)
90 solid calories a slice, wash it down with a can of tuna with ready-made pesto mixed in. Dairy just wins in general, Lactaid might help if you get the shits or anything.
People have listed a lot of stuff already, there’s not much more to contribute and you’re much more knowledgeable about this than I am. Good luck!

Nice I get those too! They’re 6lbs a package. Walnuts <15$ I believe. Pesto is expensive though.

There’s really nothing else to it. If you aren’t comfortable eating McDonald’s and pizza, then eat more of whatever it is that you don’t have a problem with. You said you take tablespoons of olive oil, so your problem is that you aren’t taking cups of it.
Personally, it doesn’t take any willpower for me because I love eating shit tons of food. I understand there are people that have to force themselves to eat. If that’s you then force it.
I dunno if anyone has mentioned this but add cheese to everything you eat.
Just sprinkle some on your eggs, hamburger, pasta, potatoes, tuna ect. I’m a big fan of dairy stuff so I would say just drink more milk or eat more yogurt.
Poptarts are another plus one package (2 poptarts) is usually around 400 calories, add in 16oz of 2% milk and you almost have 800 calories right there.
Then again I just eat peanut butter right out of the tub.
Yeah, to echo other posts…I just try to add say, 200 extra cals to every meal. Sometimes it’s olive oil on top of stir fry, cheese on sandwiches, liquid cals like OJ with meals, etc.
A little at a time seems more managable to me than an extra meal or two because I always feel so fucking full anyway.
If you’re a fan of nuts (I happen to love cashews), you can just sit down and not even realize how many you’ve eaten. A half cup of cashews has just under 400 cals, and you don’t even notice how quickly you just inhale that amount.
I know your not a newbie DG; but there is a great thread in the Beginners section by RITjared called “Bulking Tips for Newbies” where a lot of people have put tips for gaining/eating a lot in there.

I know all of this man. This ain’t my first rodeo…know what I’m saying. lol
I was just seeing if somebody had any other tricks. Some people don’t know you can take in cups of olive oil, etc.
We can all learn. Although this is very simple, there are a few tricks to the trade that make the simplest tasks even easier.
There is not a person on this planet who enjoys eating 8k worth of food a day which is my goal.
Even eating a shit ton of food every few hours sometimes you still don’t make that goal. I struggle to get over 6k so I was just looking for some different techniques to add in a little bit more cals at each meal to make that goal.
