Yeah, I really should do that.
Feeder Workout: Did this to get blood moving and reduce cramps before my squat session either on Friday or this weekend.
Face Pulls - 4 x 25
Tri. Ext. - 2 x 25
Chin-ups - 3 x 5
Box Jumps: 3 x 1 @ 38-40 in.
@T3hPwnisher you lying to us or something?
Sumo deadlifts AND dead-stop deadlifts all done as recently as 2009?! And to think I believed you got strong exclusively from touch and go deadlifts and mat work. ![]()

I typically quote 2011 as the time when I made the transition. Back then, I couldn’t pull any sort of deadlift without getting hurt. Keep following along and you’ll see a several year drought of them before I finally started playing around during DoggCrapp.
Yeah. I forgot how to conventional deadlift, somehow; but I can brace for rack pulls just fine. That’s why I considered using mat work as a means to reach that end but I then realized that overload might not be the best idea for me at this point in time. Honestly, I REALLY want to run a Westside template but I know its requirements both inside and outside of the gym would absolutely crush me. A list of programs I really want to try at some point in time are as follows: (in this order)
-
conjugate training, although I doubt I’m intelligent enough to comprehend it
-
Deep Water - easy enough, just eat steak and die
-
Starting Strength, because why the fuck not lol
Diet updates:
Urinary problems have already all but disappeared. Holy shit, nuts really were the problem. My stomach feels crampy, bloated, and I’m really constipated; but other than that my symptoms previous to having the colonoscopy are gone. I can’t believe this was in front of my face the entire time. Jesus Christ.
Breakfast:
- whatever berries and low FODMAP fruits I can stomach; includes bananas.
Lunch (+ probiotics, digestive enzymes, CBD oil)
- vegetable juice
- 8 oz. chicken
- olive oil
- 3 avocados
- steamed veggies
Dinner (+ probiotics, digestive enzymes, CBD oil)
- vegetable juice
- 5-6 cups boiled brown rice
- olive oil
- 3 soft boiled eggs
- steamed veggies
No processed foods for me. I may start drinking black coffee again just because I miss it and I need a vice. This diet should work just fine. I’m eating low-FODMAP, easily digestible foods; plenty of vegetables and fruits, and a fair amount of calories. I can’t believe I let that nutritionist suck me into his diet. The probiotics and enzymes are both things I’m keeping in just because they’re good to have. I genuinely think the CBD oil helps keep my gut calm as well.
I’m looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish while I’m actually healing. At any rate, I’ll keep plenty of laxatives on hand just in case shit goes wrong (no pun intended).
Well, the diet seems to have worked already. Feeling a little better today. There’s a good chance of Squats on Friday. ![]()
Urinary problems are gone, and stomach is a little crampy but nothing major that won’t pass later today.
So the whole time you’ve had gut problems you’ve been having nuts??
Yeah. Imagine that, huh? I’m an idiot.
Jesus fuck man-Thats so horrible!!! I’m glad it isn’t some disease though. You’re on the mend for recovery now though my friend
Yeah, it took me long enough. Let’s see how my body treats me. Thanks for the well wishes, dude.
I’m glad it’s better. I hate to say it but me and yogi kind of told you so a long time ago lol
Until I eliminated my problem foods I was convinced that something was majorly wrong too.
Yeah. I should have listened a long time ago. My stomach is still crampy and unhappy; but my urinary symptoms/diarrhea are at least gone. My bowel movements look mushy, but not like sand. That’s a step in the right direction. Maybe I’ll be better sooner than I’d originally anticipated.
Edit: GI symptoms are back in full force, stomach is just about killing me. Maybe the pineapple did me in…either that or I need to reduce avocado intake. ![]()
Go easy on the black coffee. Could give you hyperacidity - which may not be exactly your problem, but it could upset your stomach and everything might just go downhill from there
Apologies if I missed it but have you ever gotten an upper GI/endoscopy to check out the top half of your digestive track? I cant speak from experience but alot of your issues seem similar to what I have read about having bad gut bacteria.
Hey @roscop12. I actually got an upper endoscopy done when I got my colonoscopy done the other day. I get my biopsy results Friday, but the doctor said I looked absolutely fine otherwise. I also have been taking probiotics and digestive enzymes for months on end. I like to think they work.
@whang I haven’t reintroduced coffee to the diet, and I probably won’t for at least a few weeks. But I’ll make sure I start slow.
Fogive me, I’m a little too lazy to try and read everything on your log about your stomach problems. Lol. I’ll be waiting for your biopsy results though. Keep us posted.
If bad/less optimal bacteria are present, probiotics may cause them to thrive and eventually overtake the good bacteria. Again, just throwing out there what I have read trying to help. Im sure you have checked all this out before. Keep it positive kid, you have a great support network here despite what may be going on at home.
