LOL I think 15 is a little young. I think some states do an age spread rather than a specific age of consent. In my state I could have sex with a 16 year old girl and all would be fine. In other states an 18 year old by could have sex with his 16 year old girl friend and be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life. That’s complete bullshit. Having some kind of age spread like 2-3 years when the girl is less than 18 seems appropriate to me.

I believe some European countries with low ages of consent have that kind of rule in place, i.e. it’s ok to sleep with a 15 year old if you’re 18 or under yourself.

I agree that there is a difference. While I may want to beat the everliving shit out of the 40 year old, I don’t think him sleeping with an almost 18 year old should be a crime. An 18 year old female is a woman. She can vote, she can join the military, she can certainly decide who she wants to fuck.
The discussion stuck on the predictable one of the age questions(the one involving sex), but personally I’ve always thought 18 was actually a bit young for voting and probably military service, but moreso the voting.

In Japan it’s 20 for drinking, smoking, and voting. Driving age is 18. Not sure what military age is, but of course there is no draft. Age of consent varies by prefecture, but it’s 13 in Tokyo.

For sex. As far as I’m aware, there are no laws specifying the legal lower limit for selling used underwear. For selling what’s inside that underwear, the age is 18.
