If I were to start a MAG-10 2 week plan next week, I would be consuming roughly 5,000 calories/day so that I could be close to 1,000 over my maintenance. 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat equates to approx. 600 carbs, 400 protein, and 100 fat. With my busy lifestyle I’m having trouble planning on how I would eat that many carbs. I can do 8 meals/day (1 of which is post-workout). So 4 scoops surge for lifting days (2 during, 2 after) gives me 100 carbs, leaving 500 more. How do I achieve that much without consuming poor choices. Let’s say I do 1 cup of oatmeal/day in 2 sittings, 2-3 pieces of fruit, 2 pieces of nutty bread, and assorted vegetables I would still end up very short on my carb intake. Keep in mind guys I don’t have time to sit at home and cook all day since I work, go to school, and I’m married w/ a son. Suggestions and advice would be very appreciated. I could easily get 600g carbs if I was eating pasta, brown rice, etc. but I want to minimize the fat gain. Thanks.
I think that you have to use the higher GI carbs and I don’t think it matters all that much where they come from. Eat the pasta, rice, potatoes like mad because carbs like oatmeal and veggies are just going to fill you up. I’ve also included some weight gainers for inbetween my real food meals. I’ve been using Champion Heavyweight Gainer 900 and Prolab N-Large. Both taste pretty good and provide easy calories. I’ve struggled to eat enough calories and these weight gainers are the only way that I’ve been able to eat enough. I’m 9 days into my first MAG-10 cycle and after the first seven days, I added 7.6 lbs of lean body mass and dropped one lb of fat even while eating calories that are otherwise considered junk.
Dude, eat the pasta and rice. You’ll practically be on fuckin’ roids. I don’t think it’ll be a problem.
i basically ate nothing but pasta for carbs on my regular meals while on mag 10. I actually lost fat (and no i’m not that skinny bastard who eats whatever he wants without ever putting on a lb of fat) I just chose low GI pasta like fetticine, and made some healthy sauce to go with it (real tomato sauce, not sweetened with high fructose corn syrup with some 95% lean meat)…the cycle went great…put on close to 10 lbs and lost about a lb of fat…you shouldn’t have anything to worry about as long as your not shoving down angel hair with prego…catch my drift?
i think adding a weight gainer is a must when you are raising your cal’s so much and you lead a busy lifestyle (believe me i know). if its carbs you want…then look for size-up mass gainer by worldwide sports nutrition. it has like 800 cals, 150g carbs (with only 2g’s sugar), minimal fat (less than 5g’s), and like 40-50g’s protein. it has a nutrasweet product in it i believe, but it won’t kill you to use it while “on”. this should help on your quest to meet 600g’s of carbs!!
