IMO you’re still eating too little. You won’t see a lot of results from your training if you undereat. As an added bonus, you will also ruin your metabolism. You need more healthy fats and lots more protein, and you need to eat more often (add one or two meals during the day).
You CAN follow Neya’s or whoever’s diets in their clinics but you have to adjust the amount of food to suit your size.
Have you calculated your daily needs, and kept a food log so you see if you’re anywhere near that? This is more important than training for you right now IMO.
Wicked, I bet you’re starving! My goodness, girl, get more food into you. Starving the fat off does NOT work, all you’ll starve off is muscle. That’s the last thing you want to do. Do you know how many calories you consumed today? That’s where you start.
Good for you for going to the gym, and for asking for a new trainer. In the beginning it’s just about getting there. Soon you will love it.
I found the BMI calculator and the maintenance calorie calculator.
I am obese! I knew that but it is an ugly word. I am 33.4BMI and my calories are 2106 a day so 80% of that is about 1680 calories.
I will setup an Excel sheet to help or I will try the fitday.com that has been suggested.
This sure puts it right in your face doesn’t it?
Thanks for telling me about the calories and how to find my maintenance. Knowing what I need to shoot for will sure make it easier. I’ve been stumbling around ignorant and blind long enough.
I got off work early today. I am going to the gym. I just ate an egg and a scoop of Grow!. I like that stuff. When I get home I will have a string cheese, another egg and scoop of Grow. An hour after that I will have dinner. I bought one of those roasted chickens the other day and have that. I take the skin off and will have it with asparagus or a salad.
Thanks for all the help. I will take some time and figure out my meals and then post them.

Yep, you do that, and when you realise you’re only getting half of the calories you need you start adding bacon for breakfast and PB to your shakes etc… it’s a good thing! Trust me, lol. Keep us updated on that log, and stay strong.

I’ve been reading how people add peanut butter to their drinks but how do they mix it? Doesn’t it just stay a clump in the glass?
bacon??? I can have bacon??? Do you mean turkey bacon?
oooh can I have cheese and butter? OH OH or nutella??
Heh, I lost about 50lbs in about 7 months last year eating peanut butter, cheese, butter and bacon. But not very much. Mostly I ate veggies and meat and eggs.

Use a blender for the PB, or just shake it really well (but don’t use cold water). Turkey bacon is best, regular bacon is OK but drain most of the fat (it’s not the healthiest fat). Cheese? Hell yes. Butter? Don’t go overboard. NO NUTELLA, because that’s just SUGAR, sorry girl.
BUT! Don’t start eating any of this yet, first keep your log, see how many calories you need, then read up on good fats. Educate yourself. You can’t have ANY fats, they have to be good ones.

Thanks so much. That’s ten months of hard work. Hard work pays off (worth noting, OP!..seriously, last year at this time I was almost 50lbs heavier and had never lifted weights in my life!)

Thanks! B3, I started reading your thread in the midst of my transformation and have kept up with it since–you are inspirational.
Most of the story of my transformation can be found in my blog on my profile and continued on my log thread in the powerful women forum. I guess I should go hunt down some fat pics at some point for the visual element.
Also Don’t try to set huge Goals. To many people fall short of there goals because they don’t really think about whats involved in reaching them. Instead Several smaller goals that will keep you motivated and on track for the outcome you are looking for.
Also if you have a small setback, don’t harp on it. Just push through and crush it. Don’t let anyones negativity hinder you either. Many people will try to say you can’t or that your not good enough. They are the ones who tend to be to lazy and try to project there sad ass beliefs. Stay Strong and Motivated. Give it HELL Hard Charger
