George Floyd Riots

Fixed that for you. Most police work is social work (depending on the force obviously). Social workers often call the police and the response from police is often less aggressive than requested.

Very true.

The managing director (sounds very corporate) for BLM did an AMA on Reddit. She avoided answering every question related to where money from donations goes. She also recited some bogus history, policing in America was born from slave catching (this is why it continues to hunt blacks) and ignored someone who asked her why a police officer is more likely to be killed by a black man than the other way around. When asked about how blacks don’t agree with defunding the cops and instead want more cops, she gave a non answer. She also ignored the question about how Baltimore crime went up when cops reduced their presence. It’s a money grab.

Quelle surprise.

I don’t think that’s an accurate description. Maybe ex-convict porn star. But either way it wasn’t relevant at the time that he died, he was just an intoxicated man accused of spending counterfeit money. Any way you want to look at it, there isn’t a good excuse for continuing to kneel on his neck after he stopped breathing and had no pulse.

Again I’m not sure specifically what I would do or want to do. I’m just saying it’s worth a look. Personally in my job I work (mainly my team under me) with a lot of parents who get out of jail. I don’t think we have nearly the amount of supports in place to help people who have been in jail. It simply doesn’t seem to be a priority.

I don’t think my country particularly cares that much about making sure people don’t go to jail nor about making sure the ones who do go don’t go back. Just look at how we handle people who have been (allegedly) murdered by police. No matter what happens in these instances you’ve always got a group who basically says it’s just fine because that person wasn’t exactly a saint. ā€œYeah unfortunate but he had a drug charge. ā€œYeah unfortunate but he had a DUI. Yeah unfortunate but he had overdue library books when he was a kid.ā€ Many people’s first thought when someone is killed by the police seems to be ā€œprobably had it coming.ā€

Not always a race thing either and doesn’t have to be just cops.As long as it’s a poor person being fucked over it doesn’t seem like a particularly big deal. We already have huge disdain as a society for these people. Hell some of the country is probably thrilled because now we don’t have to worry about spending any tax money potentially helping that person. ā€œDamnit just the adult. They have kids on reduced lunches it’s a shame we didn’t get to kill the kids as well.ā€

Only slight kidding on some of this but again I would say an examination of what other countries do would be where I would start. Why do we lead the world in people locked up? What can we do to lower that number?

Again maybe we don’t really give a shit as it’s good business.

Idiots defaced a memorial to black Civil War soldiers. What good is there in knowing history anyway.

BARF.

It’s always about money and power. There’s zero interest in helping anyone that won’t garner a headline in return.

Meanwhile, on Sunday May 31, 18 people were murdered in Chicago. The deadliest 24 hour period in 60 years.

25 people were killed in total over that weekend and 85 others were shot and wounded.

The victims included adults and kids who were just minding their own business. Reading the details, they were killed just because someone felt like killing them. One guy was killed when he went to pay his cell phone bill by the people looting the cell phone store. A 30 year old woman was shot dead while standing on her front porch.

And BLM won’t say a word. All of these virtue signaling celebrities and politicians won’t say anything.

Last year there were 492 murders in Chicago, and that’s considered a low number, and only three fatal shootings by police. BLM won’t talk about that. They are more concerned about safe spaces for trans blacks. Seriously, it’s on their website.

And these idiots are out here talking about defunding the police? They live in some fantasy land.

Private prisons and excessively long sentences. Compared to Canada, some things that might get you probation over here can get you years in jail in the US. Then you get out and it’s hard to get a job but you owe money for spending time in jail, how are you supposed to pay it?

I have just finished reading a argument thread where bunch of SJW kept telling a police officer friend I have that his 16 years of experience on the force does not gibe him any right to comment on what’s going on and he needs to park his white privilege…

He’s100% Hawiian/Polynesian.

In Toronto, BLM’s main issue of contention for the last few years was to ban the police from gay pride day.

And it’s harder to get a job.

White-ish privilege

Lol. Definately brown. I’ve refereed hockey games with him.

Made me look like Wonderbread.

And they made 65,000 calls to 911 but yeah let’s defund.

Another blow for equality struck, as jobs flee burning city.

But we are being told they fear the police.

Not all. Just the situation you proposed.

And ask any cop, every domestic call has the potential to turn into a psycho with a knife. And, cops are trained to try and keep the situation from devolving into that.
