You popped in my mind when l read about 4 cop shootings in Stl. this morning.
Best wishes for staying safe to you and your teams.
Fuck Iām sorry mate. It really pisses me off. There was NO reason for it. There never is. I hope to hell you stay safe. This situation has devolved into the absolute basest possible scenario. Hope the statey and your other guys didnāt also take life threatening damage
Watch your six. Iāll pour out a shot for Dave.
Sorry to hear about your friend, that really sucks. I hope the situation calms real quick, and that you and all your buddies stay safe. I have faith in you guys.
Thanks for sharing that prepared info.
Also rest assured that now is not the time for that.
Maybe after-the-fact, just like all those statistics, but FOH (all due respect)
Read this yesterday - I remember everyone criticizing President Bush during his terms for being unable to speak, but this statement is better than anything I have read from any current sitting politician.
Right on man. All 4 of our guys were released last night. Non life threatening. It was unreal last night. I donāt know how to post videos but thereās some floating around that sound like Fallujah.
I heard that but apparently his wife isnāt accepting any of it. Could be a scam fund.
Yea⦠This whole white supremacy shit is so laughably idiotic. Good Lord⦠Self loathing whites are a case study in advanced mental illness.
Luckily Iāve seen enough to know way more Americans are decent caring people, white, black or other that donāt engage in this rank hypocrisy
Appreciate it buddy. Weāre all exhausted but staying frosty.
Trump tweeted about him. His wife was my boss at one time. Dave was just a solid guy and a beloved Captain, which is rare.
This is not exactly related, but relevant in my opinion to the broader discussion.
Sheila Dixon, currently winning the Dem race for Mayor, was convicted of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary. She stole gifts cards⦠and sheās winning the Dem raceā¦
The last mayor, Catherine Pugh, resigned after pleading guilty to 4 counts of tax evasion and conspiracy.
People want change and in many instances the change is overdue, but then the same people do stuff like this.
This is what Iāve been trying to say. You have boots on the ground in these communities every day trying to keep it safe. There are teachers who go to work in the schools trying to get kids to be better than the environment they are raised in. There are a lot of people doing real work in these communities and many of them are white. You have business owners, some of whom are minorities, who create jobs and provide services.
Meanwhile, you have these protesters who go out and destroy these communities because of injustice and a racist system that oppresses minorities. Letās just say they are right and the system is oppressive. If thatās the case, then it has been that way for decades; where were all of those protesters during that time? Now they want to take action?
All of those people who have already taken action and who have been working in those communities for years now have to back to them and try and heal and rebuild the damage created by people who can just go back to their nice homes in the suburbs, whether theirs or their parentsā, or their college dorms. They really are hypocrites. They complain about racism yet, I would ask them why are there so few black people living in their communities and going to their public schools.
And letās be honest, this āprotestā stopped being about George Floyd a long time ago.

Iām not going to derail the thread, but I just wanted to point out this situation is a primary example of what most 2A types talk about. Governors canāt even stop unarmed rioting without resorting to violence. When the police do resort to violence (cop punches a woman in Baltimore, pepper sprays a child, etcā¦) it gets caught on video and even more people get mad / more cops lose their jobs. On the flip side, entire police forces take a knee in solidarity with protestors.
People think an armed population with ātacticoolā gear would get stomped by the US military, but the American population clearly has an enormous amount of power over relatively small government agencies and said agencies are not all on the same page regarding how to respond.
If anything, this situation strengthens the argument for individual ownership of firearms.

Not so much about firearms. Iām pretty much for ownership of them.
More of what happens when diametrically opposed definitions of freedom collide.
According to themselves, both sides/they are right in doing what they believe is good or right.
Can that happen in America though? Can two people be right and disagree?
Or does someone always have to āwinā.

Answer to prayer mate. Incredibly glad to hear that!!
Beloved superior officers are definitely not common man, especially once they advance enough they have to become involved in the politics of higher up admins. Hats off to all of you.
I remember everyone criticizing President Bush during his terms for being unable to speak, but this statement is better than anything I have read from any current sitting politician.
I sure as hell couldnāt have put anything like that down lol.
To lighten up the thread just a littleā¦
I got one word for you, my man.
Strategery!
That was fantastic. My personal favorite was the skit SNL did while the whole recount thing was going on, where Al Gore and GW had to share the White House as roommates ![]()

GWB is sneaky man. We were all āHaahaa, look at the funny guy. He canāt talk real good!ā.
Now, 11 years later, weāre begging for him!
Strategery!

The real 4D chessmaster!
Editing. Sorry.

I think, generally, life occurs in the grey area; excluding, fringe beliefs, so sure two sides can be ārightā. I donāt believe, again generally, there is a universal right or wrong in a lot of cases. Perspective and circumstance is a major component. In a lot of cases, I think an action can be both right and wrong depending on the details.
Looting is about as close to a universal wrong as we can get as is unlawful police brutality. However, I can think of cases where looting is at minimum understandable. Iād loot the shit out if Wal-Mart if it meant my kids wouldnāt starve.
Can that happen in America though?
It happens every four years, right? Half of voting Americanās thought HRC and Dem policy was ārightā the other half thought Trump and his policies were ārightā. Neither is wrong. Neither is right.
Or does someone always have to āwinā.
I donāt think itās necessarily a zero-sum game. I see it more as a balancing act between the thousands of perspectives and circumstances that exist.
I know itās unpopular, but I have always been a pretty big fan of GWB.
