George Floyd Riots

The problem is that the word “racist” is losing all meaning. Calling a riot a riot is racist. Math is racist. Time is racist. So it’s impossible to say that you are wrong in your statement here because it’s a word with an ever-expanding definition.

So always assume racism just to be on the safe side.

Take my words as they are. They stand alone. Make no assumptions about me and my experiences. I have made none about you.

Leaving aside the fact that you couldn’t verify anything I choose to write in response to this question, consider the question itself. What would you tell your pupil if they used this sort of argument in a discussion of…well, anything at all?

If I state that China’s treatment of Uighurs is deplorable, should you demand proof of my personal sacrifice for the Uighurs?

Use your own best judgment.

Yes. If a thing exists, it is also racist.

Yes, you have.

In other words, nothing.

Are you in China?

Our concept of existence is the product of white supremacy so this could indeed be true. And that is not sarcasm.

Can’t have racism without the “is”

I don’t know, but I can live without sports. I don’t want divisive politics preached to me when I just want to watch a game. I want to get away from that crap. Sports is an escape, except when it’s not. If I can’t escape into sports I got lots of other things to do, music, training, cars, guns, etc.

That depends on what your definition of ‘is’, is…

The thread isn’t a dumpster fire. That guy is just an ass. He’s trolling, flag and don’t respond.

I don’t really watch sports anyway, the only sport I follow is powerlifting because that’s what I’m into. I’m just waiting for someone to kneel with 1000lbs on their back.

Even questioning that is racist

Name one. People say this, yet provide no evidence. The law isn’t racist, people are. You can misapply the law, but the law itself is race-neutral as it should be.

Affirmative action policies. They discriminate against white people, and Asians in some case as well.

Larry Wheels… I know he is geared up to the max, but I have never seen such power per pound of body weight gear or no gear. I saw him squat 865 when he weighed 265 with abs. And he did it with knee wraps and a belt, no squat suit. I am sure you know him, but still it was nuts.

:nose: ← yep!
In California, they put prop 16 on the ballot, which is supposed to repeal the actual anti-descrimination wording from the California constitution. And no it does not replace the language or improve it. And you want to know why it will pass? Because they are calling it the “Affirmative Action Ammendment”. So just to be clear, they are removing the language that prevents racial discrimination, without replacement. Think I am making it up or exaggerating?

Check it out:

So yeah, they are getting so woke that they have come full circle to supporting racial discrimination. Woke ideology is indistinguishable from the damn KKK if you look just at their demands and ideology. One could not determine one groups policies with another’s.

Your link doesn’t work, I read about it on Wikipedia though

So what is the deal with this, they no longer want to prevent racial discrimination so that they can discriminate against the “privileged” races?

He has been called out on that assertion by Z, myself, you and maybe others.

The only examples that are coming up are affirmative action which was mentioned by myself and @chris_ottawa.

IMO, at this point it is grasping at straws to find racist policies. You can find laws that ALLOW individual racism. Prohibiting individual racism would result in a violation of constitutional rights. By this line of argument there is perhaps systematic racism, but not a workable solution to fix it. This argument also would require that the assumption be accepted that not taking action against racism is racism. I think the assumption is conditional on the circumstances.

Appears to be, but it also will allow it the other way around.

Edit: the link didn’t work…

Well, I will take one of those. I just don’t see it, outside of Affirmative Action.
I supposed any law can be twisted if you work hard enough. Or you can just apply it to any group you don’t like. But I don’t see discrimination against black\ brown in the law. Maybe there are some old obscure laws on the books from the ye olde days nobody knows about, but I haven’t been able to find them.

As far as the ‘systemic’ part, that’s just a theory by the intersectionalists. Intersecting a race component, not because the law is racist, but because the people who wrote the law may or likely have been ‘white’ and therefore inherently racist.
There claim that all white people are inherently racist is not only blatantly wrong, but racist itself against the marginalized groups they profess to protect. In other words, the marginalized aren’t as smart, so the bar needs to be lowered so they can clear it too. It’s insulting to say the least, but so many people buy into it with out realizing they are insulting their own intelligence by doing so.

For example, we know based on data that many states’ rental laws allow for landlords to discriminate (it shows blacks with similar stats paying more and getting rejected more than whites). How do we stop this from happening though? It is really hard to do without infringing on constitutional rights, or without using racism to fight racism.
