George Floyd Riots

If it’s the law, we re-write the law to remove race out of it.
Any law that discriminates based on race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, etc. needs to be amended.

I am saying if you buy into the “not doing something about racism is racism” argument, then you would have to accept that any law that doesn’t go out of it’s way to prevent racism is racist. I don’t buy the “not doing something about racism is racism” is always correct (it is situational, and I disagree if doing something results in using racism, or infringing on constitutional rights).

For example, some would say that since the rental law doesn’t specifically prevent discrimination against black people that it is racist. I think the solutions involve using racism or violating constitutional rights.

Honestly, I would rather put up with a few racists then live under draconian rules just to stop a few folks. I don’t think most people are racist, in fact I think the opposite.
Some people just hate, you cannot legislate hate out of somebody. And there are people who are good at talking to people about their racism. There is a guy who has converted 200+ Klan members into leaving the Klan. I forget his name at the moment, but he’s a hero.
I know that throwing rocks, moltovs, fireworks, committing arson and murder is going to convince anybody.
And we do need police reform. They have extensive power to ruin lives and people don’t have the power or the means to protect themselves. So there are things we can do.

In most places, a landlord doesn’t need a reason not to rent to someone. The only way to get around this would be to make a law that certain classes of people can’t be refused without a valid justification, but that isn’t realistic.

It’s normal to meet or see someone and not like them or not think highly of them for whatever reason, for some people race would be a major factor but there is no way to regulate that. The problem is when people jump to conclusions that someone is racist when maybe there are other reasons they don’t like you.

Nah, after all the racist cops saw that athlete’s were being paid to not play and they couldn’t watch a few basketball games they are now not racist and neither is anyone else.

Problem solved. Thanks for your great work NBA, MBL and NHL

Police reform, or government and law reform?

This is going to be hard. This is exactly the type of virtue signalling that Hollywood loves to bask in. On the other hand, we saw how well they dealt with being out of the limelight with COVID. Maybe if they have a system to divvy up the interviews and fawning over how good they are:

All this for a knife-wielding sex criminal. We better hope the cops never kill any innocent people or the whole country will shut down.

Surely the Blake case puts the social worker in place of cops “idea” in the trash now. Imagine being the woman who was allegedly raped in her sleep by this terrible person and seeing this.

Are you paying attention? The original narrative, regardless of whether or not it has been proven false, is always the truth. Blake was breaking up a fight, was unarmed and was shot in the back for no other reason than he is black, by a cop who hunted him down. It’s like Michael Brown and “hands up don’t shoot”; it was proven false yet people still say it.

This will only provide them with more ammo to call for social workers.

Whenever a black person commits a crime, he is also a victim. And no, that isn’t sarcasm but how BLM sees black criminals (i.e, there are none).

Despite Blake admitting to investigators that he had a knife, the media and his lawyer still keep repeating that he was unarmed.

Just think about this - police are called for you, you are tazed twice and manage to wrestle away from two or three cops, you then pull out a knife and get shot. This is what they call “suicide by cop”, except he survived.

Geez Biden has to fix this or he’s toast. Going to be fun going through the left and right wing theories on what’s going on here lol (it’s not clear here but antifa(.)com redirects to Biden’s webpage)

I thought you were joking, it really does. Maybe there is a third party after all, antifa.

As for Jacob Blake, here’s what the police have to say (which corroborates the video and statement from the cameraman):

“Mr. Blake was not unarmed. He was armed with a knife. The officers did not see the knife initially,” Matthews said in his statement. “The officers issued repeated commands for Mr. Blake to drop the knife. He did not comply.”

Also:
According to the statement from Matthews, officers were told before they arrived that Blake had a felony warrant for his arrest for a domestic violence incident that included a charge of third-degree sexual assault.

Knife wielding sex offender lives matter!

It seems in Portland, peaceful protestors have broken into Mayor Ted Wheeler’s home and are remaining there until he resigns and abolishes the police (by 2022) with no replacement.

This would have been much better if they walked in wearing a crown and carrying a sceptre but either way, I assume the mayor is now going to re-write that letter to Trump.

I counter with 4 well known posters that have made Commie SOB posts, and raise you with at least 2 useful idiots:)

You beat me to this point. The congressional black caucus pushed for this precisely because they saw what it was doing. It wasn’t some Jim Crow provision. It was a bad policy, but it wasn’t intentionally racist.

Good job

I think Wheeler is mentally ill. The protesters want him gone yet he defends them.

All lefties are mentally ill.
