George Floyd Riots

New rule: instead of saying “defunding”, we should all simply refer to the percentage cut/reallocated from the budget. That way everyone is on the same page (some folks hear defund and they think cut ALL funding).

There is a great solution for improving life in poverty. Doesn’t involve killing far more black human lives in the womb than every law enforcement agency combined in some social contract that promises social insurance in exchange for the sacrifice of ones first, second, and maybe even 3rd child as we fall below replacement rate fertility. It’s called marriage. You know, that thing we turned into just another institution for expressing ones individuality that exists to exist.

I’m asking how active the national chapter is in their actual messaging.

to me, the messaging has seemed to take on a life of its own, and every BLM chapter, Hollywood celebrity, and private Twitter account interprets and proclaims the messaging a little different. I just haven’t heard much direct from HQ, or maybe I’ve missed it?

How do we go about getting everybody into a marriage? This is just not going to happen. IMO, it is better to have a practical solution that works over an ideal one that doesn’t. A good comparison is schools with abstinence only sex ed. Turns out those schools have higher pregnancy rates on average than the schools with sex ed that teaches safe sex.

Everybody doesn’t need to get married. It’s having children out of wedlock that’s the issue. If you don’t want kids why get married? If you do want kids why not get married? And there are ways to incentivize marriage such as with tax breaks.

Got to run out shortly. But it’s interesting what world views would value black lives more. The one that sees a population that needs serious intervention dramatically restricting its growth? Even by the direct killing of lives already existing in their individual biological life cycle?

I’m not looking to curb the growth of the black population. I’m interested in a healthy young black population well situated to take over as the majority for a graying barren white population if need be. I don’t want to keep their population in check. That means means intact Herero families honored on pedestals of exclusivity and obligation to society… Clutch the pearls, I know.

They are very active in telling people to donate money. They are very quiet when it comes to telling people where the money is going.

I do find it somewhat sickening to think that the answer we are giving poor black people is that abortion is a form of birth control. I don’t like to give my opinion on abortion that much because I feel like it’s something that affects women more than men but, the idea that we are going to tell black girls and women that abortion is an easy answer to their problems (because, let’s be honest, we wouldn’t be making abortions more readily available if we weren’t also encouraging women to take advantage of that service) will only serve to further cheapen the perceived value of black lives by black people themselves.

Offering contraception or abortion does not necessarily mean reducing black population. For example, a child could be delayed until a later time by using contraception. Total amount of children remains the same. The amount of children raised in poverty is reduced by one in this example.

IMO, the soundness of an argument should be based on it’s merit, not the person giving it.

This isn’t required to have easily accessible contraception and abortion.

IMO, sometimes delaying having children results in valuing the children more. I think it helps to raise the child in a financially stable environment, and reduces the stress on the parents. I have heard many parents relay the sentiment that waiting for children made raisning them better on the whole. I am not convinced on your argument here.

You’re assuming that these young women or girls are ever going to be capable of that. I doubt any of them would have gone to Harvard but for having that baby. Here’s a little ghetto secret: a lot of these girls wanted to get pregnant.

Some will be. The ones that want to get pregnant can still do that under what I am saying would be a good idea.

All I am saying is giving everybody access to it would reduce poverty and crime. There would be no forcing or encouraging, just easy access.

I am not surprised that they seem to have no problem with their organization being named and invoked everywhere you see chaos, misery and destruction unfolding. Are you?

You’ll have to take my word for it, but when I checked out their website in the now-quaint era of the Ferguson riots, it was openly Marxist and fully embraced the lie of Michael Brown’s shooting being unjustified. I didn’t give any more scrutiny than I would the social media rants of a college freshman who just learned about the evils of capitalism, but it struck me as pretty cookie-cutter class warfare rhetoric.

It seems to me that choosing a name like “Black Lives Matter” to cover for your Marxist activism tells me most of what I need to know about their motivations. If you’re curious about any of the rest, I’d encourage you to seek out the statements of the founders and read what they publish on their website today.

None of it will do a lick to improve black lives for anyone, anywhere, who isn’t being personally enriched by the false narrative of systemic white supremacy and the activism purported to address it.

This is a power grab by a new generation of emotional morons who seek to implement a new version of a failed ideology that has resulted in massive human misery and death. This is another watershed moment in history where the Democrats have found themselves firmly on the side of hatred, division, destruction, failed ideas and racial strife.

Unfortunately, it will be up the deeply flawed Republican party to serve as the only real bulwark against evil policies and the idiots who support them, as it has been throughout most of American history. Instead of an Eisenhower or a Lincoln and all of their flaws, we’re stuck with Trump and all of his flaws.

Let’s hope that’s good enough this time.

Add to that she was getting a pay cut plus protesters were rocking up to her house and the city did nothing.

You have a black person who has carved out a respected career in a public leadership role and white people decrying racism intimidate her and make the working conditions impossible for her to stay.

You couldn’t write this stuff.

I guess time will tell who had the greater impact in the year 2020: the Republican failure with covid and economic shutdowns, and then ballooning debt to horrific levels to save the wealthys investment portfolios. Or the democrats supporting race riots, SJW reform and abandoning support for police.

It’s been a pretty shitty year so far.

We’ll know if we find ourselves in a de-facto one-party state during our lifetime.

The police killed 9 unarmed black men last year and most of those killings were unquestionably justified. More black children have been murdered in the past month by other blacks. But hey, let’s burn down the cities over the death of a degenerate who was old enough to have known better.

Idk, the way POTUS gets played by Russia/China, and if the debt bomb blows, that one party might be from Russia or China haha.

I don’t think that’s necessary, cutting all funding would mean abolishing the police and that’s another thing the Marxists talk about.

Yeah, it’s a branding issue lol

I find “defund” is a big buzzword that people misinterpret.

Eg. “Seattle just officially defunded their entire police department!!” While correct, the full story is that they cut the budget by about 1% due to budget shortfalls caused by covid.
