Gels/Creams to Injections (HRT)

I will keep this post short and sweet. I am purely looking for personal stories of how people got on switching and how much better they felt. I have been on Androgel (10g’s) daily for the past 2 months and seeing little improvement. I think it might be driving my DHT/E2 way up but not benefit my total T nor free t enough. I am still suffering from bad ED and joint clicking/pain and a whole host of other things.

I am in pretty good shape and not overweight (more like underweight). I am going back to the anti-aging clinic next week and want to know the best move to make with regards to TRT.

I am thinking either 125/150mg of Test E weekly should be good? Anyone got any experiences with this? I will use HCG on the last 2 days.

I would be intrested in hearing personal stories from others.

Find the “in praise of TRT+AI” thread.

E levels can spoil everything. You can have high TT and decent FT and E can make for ED, low libido, brain fog, low energy etc.

The above can happen while you otherwise have good physical androgenic and anobolic results. If you do have these, you may be a transdermal non responder. In that case, your starting dose should be 100mg/wk until BW shows the need for adjustment. That dose takes many into high-normal range.

If you have E problems, you will need AI with TD or injections.

Thanks for the reply ksman. You are a wealth of knowledge and experience and have already helped me a great deal in previous threads. Thank you for this.

Should i start on 125mg weekly or 100mg? I believe the T comes in 250 amples so i kinda thought splitting each week into 125mg would be best. If i inject on monday morning would i use HCG on the sat/sun? I don’t want to use more than 250iu at a time.

Regarding lifestyle, I am required to walk 13/14 miles a day to work (just due to the bad transport system here mainly and because i live in the country) and can’t help but feel i seem to be using the T up very fast, or maybe too much is converting to E2. What’s the best way of reducing E2 when applying the gel’s (obviously NOT applying to fatty areas is important)?

What other symptoms would cause your penis to go “soft” (for lack of a better description) and shrink up really bad at times? I know both high E2 and Low T (would it be free t or total?) could cause this, but my energy/mood seem’s to be good with the exception of this problem. Would be causing this?

It look’s almost dead at times. It’s strange because i have been experiencing allot of dry skin on my scrotum/foreskin, elbows, hands, etc. I have noticed a great deal of skin thinning on these areas too. When T goes back up high, does skin ‘regenerate’ back to being thicker and more elastic?

I can no longer get erections by thought and they always require a good 5/10 minutes of stimulation to get a really hard one. Almost like i am directing the blood into my penis to get it hard, this is made ALLOT worse when everything is shrunk up/soft.

This is beyond a joke now and has destroyed my relationship with my girlfriend. My confidence is zero and i have atrophied nuts too due to varicocele (not so bothered about this as long as the main gun is working!).

Do you think the androgel is simply raising E2/DHT way too high and over-taking the effects of the T? What would be the tell tale signs of this? I have little to no body fat, so i really can’t understand why i am experiencing BOTH the symptoms of low E2 (dry skin, skin thinning, etc) and also HIGH E2 with the low libido/ED, penis shrinkage, etc. Very, very strange…

Do you think i would be better suited to injections and will i get ‘though-induced’ erections back (i.e. getting ‘hard’ hardons back with just thought - ready for action!).

Again thanks for all your help and time.

E levels can cause the sexual problems even when T levels are high. So E alone can be the cause of those problems. E can cause problems even in normal range.

Many with thinning, fragile dry skin get thicker and elastic skin with TRT. That suggests that you might not be getting decent T absorption.

T comes in multi use vials, 10 or 20ml of 200mg/ml. You do not need to deal with ampules.

You need some new bloodwork to know that is happening.

You low BF seems odd if your E levels are up.

I say this with no pleasure Mega but I finally have heard of someone who’s TRT is going even worse than mine. I have some of the same problems but less severe. I have elsewhere described my current condition as feeling stupid, lazy and unhappy.

I get it in cycles. These cycles, which last a week or so, also bring weak wood. On this board i have learned that there are 2 good possible explanations for these reactions: lower T than previous. Low dosages of T succeed in raising t levels only enough to shut down natural production, resulting in even lower t than before TRT.

Since you are on 10g of the (10%?)cream (theoretically 10 mg absorbed) this seems unlikely unless you are just a poor canditate for the TD. The other possible explanation that is often discussed here is Estradiol. Like you I am very suspicious that E is causing my problems. But so far as I know there is only one way to know for sure and that is BW.

My point is that if I were you and I had symptoms so severe that I was uanble to service my GF I would beat my feet down to the lab!

I wont be too far behind you.

LEF has BW reasonably priced and they will help you interpret the results.

Good luck bro.
