Don’t know my friend… Must not jump to conclusions. It may just be an illusion.

Fucking strong bench. It’s crazy, I never would have predicted 12 reps based off your first one, but you just kept pumping them out! I can smell what you’re cooking brah.

Suppose I should lay down some informacíon about myself.

Height: 5’10
Weight: 90kg

1RM’s.

Deadlift: 197.5kg; 245kg (trap bar)
Squat: 175kg
Bench: 150kg
Overhead-press: 85kg

I’ve been training for about 3 years now, mostly conditioning or explosive work for rugby, but now venturing into the world of pure strength training. Under the tutelage of SamMcLoughlin, I’m starting 5/3/1. So here’s to what is hopefully going to be a year of gains. First session in the morning.

Well I remember, that’s a substantial difference between conventional and trap-bar pulling; You should work on your technique more on conventional/sumo pulling.

I have been. Like I said, my conventional deadlift is a work in progress. I haven’t gone near a trap bar in a long time. If you read through the rest of the log you’ll see my frustration at not quite having my technique in a comfortable place.

5/3/1 Cycle 3 Week 3

Squat:

60kgx3(stretching out)
80kgx3
100kgx2
117.5kgx5
132.5kgx3
147.5kgx12(PR, but thought I counted 13…DERP)

Assistance:

Deadlift: Bit different today. Instead of 4x10, 1x12 at around 65-70% of our maxes, me and Sam tried pulling heavy singles as many times as we could for 30mins. It was as difficult as something difficult.

200kgx1x17, 150kgx3(just to get to 20 reps in total, Sam pulled it 30 times so was annoyed at being left behind) Mind you, 200kg is a one rep PR for me.

Glute-Ham Raise: 2x10 (KIIIIILLLLLLL MMEEEEEEEE!!!)

Notes: It was a tough session. Squats weren’t as deep as they should have been but listen, quit being a big fat hater.
