Damn it you even have Spud Vader down there in to corner very nice, but that is what I expect from a despot such as AV.

I would love to see how some one else tries to explain all that when you bring a girl home for the first time b/c the only reaction I ever really get is “Wow, thats…great” Buts thats ok b/c those panties are coming off with or with out the Force…man that doesnt sound very good dose it?
You would have been right if I had taken that picture a few weeks ago. I moved all the books to the den. Those are all DVDs and toys. When I get a chance, I’ll take some pictures of the shelves and share.

As far explaining it to women, this is why I ask all women if they like the movie The 40-Year-Old Virgin before they come over. If they say ‘no’, then I know they aren’t going to be wild about the place and probably aren’t my type of girl anyway. If they say ‘yes’, then they usually enjoy the place.

It’s not like I decorate the place to impress women though. It’s all for me. She doesn’t have to love it, just put up with it. It’s not like I have tons of women over anyway. I do fully acknowledge that if I were to ever have a woman move in, that I’m going to lose a lot of that shelf space for her crap.

Aesthetically, I learned from photography (where they say the 100mm lens is traditionally the most pleasing angle of view for portaiture, and this yields a view of 46 degrees) how to calculate the most comfortable viewing distance with respect to screen size.

You can actually go one size up from that - meaning, choose the next standard screen size up from the calculation that is available on the market - and be good. Just depends on how picky you are, which I definitely am.

I would love one of these:

The RSS feature is wicked. You hook it up to your wifi router and with the press of a button, get a quick glimpse of weather, stocks, news headlines and sports scores. And the picture is awesome.

Holy shit, that’s a nice setup, Vader.

What TV is that?

And Arrogant Bastard is very good, but Chimay Premier (red label) is what God would drink.

It’s a 55" Sony LCD Projection. One of the KDF series. I got a pretty good deal on it at the time because they were trying to close out their inventory to make room for the new SXRDs.

Those last 5" are just showing off.

Got a 50" then?
How’d you guess?

I have Superman and Batman shit all over my “movie room” so I’m not that far off. I try not to over do it though. I don’t have any toys but there are two 12" statues (one of each of them) and about 6 posters around the room (there will be more when I run across some good ones).

Don’t ever apologize for “Geek Shit” unless it is truly overboard.

Ok i’m gonna get the ps3 80gb seeing as i’ve found one cheaper than the 40gb one.

Also can anyone find me a download link for Return to Castle Wolfenstein? (Single player version). I can’t seem to find a full version for Windows.

Thanks chaps.

Uh, I don’t think ‘download links’ are welcome in the public forms

RTCW was one of the most enjoyable PC games I’ve ever played (and beat).

I’m thinking about picking up a new iPod touch (probably next year, don’t have the funds right now for the project) and scoping out which 1.8" SSD drives - we’re talking at least 128 GB - I can fit into it if I were to perform a little surgery.

I’m worried about two things, though:

A) the power specs of the replacement drive not falling within the limits of the device

B) if the mini OS X running on the iPod touch - or even from a hardware standpoint, really - has a limit on the capacity of drive that it will recognize, a la Windows XP + IDE interface = 137 GB limit

C) the unavailability of a third part program to actually run any of this shit…unless I can somehow tweak Apple software. I’d rather not have to hack the iPhone

I’d like to have a mobile device - the iPod touch, for instance - connected via wifi to a home theater setup, whereby I can change the music playing for multiple rooms - independently - and have it all running off a multi terabyte server that I can also play movie clips off of and display it on my TV.

Some day…

Oh, and can I get a fucking ‘amen’ on the Blu-Ray edition of Planet Earth?

Goddamn that is some sick cinematography. My ex god me the (regular) dvd set for our anniversary and it’s probably the coolest footage mankind will ever produce.

FYI:

I believe the Blu-Ray edition is (at least it was) the BBC version, while the HD DVD version is the American version.

BBC edition = more footage, commentary, and narrated by David Attenborough (aka pimp)

American ed = narrated by Sigourney Weaver (but I think there are more narrators) who does an amazing job as well.

Yea it is a really nice game(storyline/playability is very well made).

Okay can someone pm me a link or mention a good website?

Why stop there? Aircon/heating, Security cameras, lights, phone.

One device to rule them all.

$11.50? I thought I had it bad. How do you people afford to live in California? What is minimum wage there? Like $50k/year?

I would be all over any Stone brew given your location. They make a tasty beer.

Say it ain’t so. This looks like the most bad-ass Bond yet.
Don’t get me wrong, QoS is giving me a semi as is, but I about decked some obese fucker behind me when I saw Casino Royale because he slammed his butt into the back of my ex gf’s head and failed to apologize in what I thought was an appropriate manner.

(Which was sort of laughing it off and not saying “I’m sorry” or “excuse me” or anything along those lines. If you’re gonna be fat you could at least be nice about it.)

Which leads me to this tip: If your massive girth doesn’t allow you to navigate the aisles of a movie theater without taking out three rows, stay the fuck home.

I was going to throw in the option to control my Brazilian stepford wife, but didn’t want to sound too geeky.

O Princess…you dirty dirty Princess

Getting this installed in the new car on Sunday

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/Navigation/In-Dash/AVIC-F900BT

I’m not an audio buff so would appreciate any input from those of you who are. I know a guy who knows a guy kind of a deal and I’m not sure if it was a real deal or not but I do trust the guy. $900.00 installed, on their site it lists for 1100.00 but I a google search shows you being able to get it from 750 - 1000 so I figured with the installation it was a fair price.

I am geeked to get the diskless GPS/NAV and Hands free bluetooth phone hook up!

I’m out of touch with the ICE market since I don’t drive except for a few weeks a year - but that looks like a very nice little piece of kit.

XBOX 360 Live Updates - amongst the mentioned updates, rumour also has it that we will finally be able to copy content onto the hard drive via the USB and possibly over the network connection.

Awesome fucking news!
