5 more days til Iron Man comes on DVD and Blu Ray, can you T-Geeks wait?
I only have to pay $7 at my theater and its realy nice and plenty of leg room =). I still need to pic up Transformers on Blu-Ray but I think they are about to release a new SE so I might wait.

$11.50? I thought I had it bad. How do you people afford to live in California? What is minimum wage there? Like $50k/year?
I would be all over any Stone brew given your location. They make a tasty beer.

I sometimes wonder how I can afford to live out here myself. It’s pretty ridiculous.
Stone brew is the best! My birthday celebration a few weeks ago involved a few pitchers of Arrogant Bastard. Ruination IPA is another favorite of mine.

Oh how I fucking loathe the movie theater. If you are anything above 5’10" you have your knees in your chest the whole time. And nothing grinds my gears like people talking during movies at the theater.
I do that at home all the time, but I’m not going to pay $9.50 to MST3K it up and not to mention annoy the shit out of everyone else there.
I had pizza night last night. Watched Pride Final Conflict 2003. Pizza was a pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and jalapenos. Beer was Leinie’s Oktoberfest. Yum.
Yes, people at the theater do annoy me. The thing for me now is that tickets at my local theater just jumped up to $11.50. I can almost buy the DVD for that much and that’s almost half the cost of a Blu-Ray disc.
Considering that I have a pretty nice setup at home, it’s getting to the point to where it just makes more sense to wait and skip all the hassle of the theater or save it only for the movies I MUST see right when they come out.
As a fellow MST3K-er, sometimes it’s more fun to watch stuff at home anyway. Bad movies rule!
I know I’m probably going to go all-meat like I usually do for the pizza. The beer I’m not sure yet. Either Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale or perhaps an Oktoberfest beer since those are starting to show up at my local BevMo.
I’ve seen every Bond movie the day it’s was released since License to Kill, but I’m seriously considering letting that little ritual slip just because of my distain for movie theaters.

California is ridiculously expensive to live in. Especially the housing market. Homes I see on the East Coast are easily double, almost triple here in California. Not sure why, the weather and economic market perhaps.

We should all chill at Vader’s place and watch Iron Man. I’ll bring the beer.
What is this Iron Man movie you speak of?

Damn! Now that is a sweet setup. One of these days…one of these days.
Edit: My setup isn’t as nice as that.

It didn’t look like my picture came through on the last post. Trying again.
Holy shit, that’s a nice setup, Vader.
What TV is that?
And Arrogant Bastard is very good, but Chimay Premier (red label) is what God would drink.
I can’t believe how much of a geek i am. I have…
a Motorolla hiptop phone
PS2
iPod nano with what feels like bazillions of songs
a super cool ‘bitchin’ laptop
arrrrg…geeks are taking over the world!
Is it a sad thing that I can tell you the books on the end, 4 rows down are part of the New Jedi Order and they look to be Vector Prime and Dark Tide #1: Onslaught. Im not saying thats what they are for sure but that sure as hell is what it looks like.
Damn it you even have Spud Vader down there in to corner very nice, but that is what I expect from a despot such as AV. I would love to see how some one else tries to explain all that when you bring a girl home for the first time b/c the only reaction I ever really get is “Wow, thats…great” Buts thats ok b/c those panties are coming off with or with out the Force…man that doesnt sound very good dose it?
Damn, Vader. I never thought I’d get home theater envy.
On a non-technical side, is anyone reading the Warhammer - Horus Heresy series? I just finished Battle for the Abyss, and it feels like my balls tried to climb back up into my stomach.
Holy crap, Vader. That is friggin’ sweet!
I need to show this picture to the Mrs. and explain to her the reasons why I need to transform part of our basement into something like this…

Say it ain’t so. This looks like the most bad-ass Bond yet.

It’s a 55" Sony LCD Projection. One of the KDF series. I got a pretty good deal on it at the time because they were trying to close out their inventory to make room for the new SXRDs.
EDIT: I guess I should describe the rest of my setup since the pic isn’t all that clear.
Cable provider: AT&T U-Verse. This is both an HD receiver and DVR.
PS3
XBOX 360
Wii
HDMI/Optical switcher
Denon Receiver
You can’t see all the speakers since they are spread about, but it’s a 6.1 surround system.

Those last 5" are just showing off.

Let me know if you need assistance with convincing the Mrs as to why you need to have those things. They are all essential to the entertainment system.

hehe…I remember one of the first times my friend came over after getting that TV, he said something like, “You know, there is such a thing as too big, when it comes to TVs.”
I still respectfully disagree. Your TV can never be too big.
